None of his tricks are going to fly in the NHL though. He has highlight reels of plays that won't happen in this league. He will need plenty of AHL time to learn how to apply his gifts to the pro game.

You mean Greene's 2nd year on the Kings, when he was 25 years old? The same age MacDermid is now?

Because if you're talking about Greene's 2nd year in the league, in Edmonton, he was 8th among Edmonton's defensemen in TOI/gm.

Oh, maybe you weren't talking about Greene's second season on the Kings, either, as he averaged under 18 minutes/game, was 6th in toi/gm among defensemen (even less than Randy Jones).

So I'm not quite sure what 2nd year you are referring to.

MacDermid is a bottom 6 tough, intense defenseman who defends his teammates.

Greene was a lot more experienced (and yes, more talented as a whole) at this same age, but MacDermid brings stuff to the table nobody else does, but everyone appreciates.

I just meant tonight. I know a lot of good things have been said about both guys to date but this is the first game I’ve seen and they haven’t done much, which is why I’m apt to blame 73.
