Believe In Henke
I like Dagoon, he goes on his Hank rant every season, then Hank starts to win games for us that matter, ya know, late in the season and in the playoffs
Lundqvist is not beyond criticism guys.
We have been getting shots and possession better than last year and the biggest change is now suddenly Lundqvist can't stop a beach ball.
He'll get it together. He always does. Not concerned about Hank at all.
I know he will get back to form but seeing his numbers so outta wack after 9 games is still a bit unsettling.
... Second he has sucked and u need to face that fact.
You honestly think even two of the goals last night were on him? I really can't see how that's the case.
The last one you could argue. The first two were just brain farts leading to turnovers.
When will his numbers be more vital, 9 games or 40 something into the season?
I think I speak for everyone when I say the sooner the better.
If we're 30 games in here and hes still barely above .900 and under 3.00, somethings wrong.
Full confidence he will get back into it, and it starts with the damn blue line waking up.
What most people on this forum don't understand is its not all about how many goals he let in.
"A goalie is only as good as the team in front of him." - Mike Richter
Sure, did Henrik give up a bad goal last night? Yes...the tying goal to make it 3-3 was soft. Other then that, all goals scored on him in the first three games HAVEN'T been his fault. Deflections, missed coverages, screens, defensive breakdowns, etc etc etc have been at fault.
His game in Boston was epic, made tons of great saves, we just didn't have the play in front of him to win.
Henrik was pulled out of the home opener not because of his play, but because Torts didn't want to subject him to the ****y play that was going on in front of him.
If anything, last night against Boston at home he looked like he was fighting the puck at bit. It happens some nights, he's a human being.
We are a spoiled fan base having such a great goalie who has bailed us out of too many situations to begin to count, so when Henrik gives up a couple goals people tend to think he's slumping.
I have played goalie for 15+ years, and in some fairly competitive leagues. I know the position well, and when I go to games at the garden, and watch Henrik in warmup, I usually can tell if he will be on or off that night depending on how he looks. Any goalie will tell you the same about some nights you have it, and some nights you are fighting the puck.
A user on here said it last night, the last player on this team ANYONE needs to worry about is Hank. He is his harshest critic.
It is super early in the season, and he will only get better as the season goes on. Let's focus more on who will lead in secondary scoring, and even more importantly, fixing the anemic, ****y powerplay that still plagues us again.
Its the forwards too. When they don't have the puck, or they turn it over again, that puts the dmen on their heels and they have to handle the puck more.
Our Dmen are not puckhandlers, they play to chip it out to the grunts. At least that's what they did when they were successful. Maybe it just needs more time, Rome New York wasn't built in a day. In fact there were many bloody battles fought there.
I think that the Lundqvist era is at an end. He's bleeding goals against and doesn't seem motivated at all. No glove hand, blocker seems off and he's slow on getting down... I think he should be traded.
I'll give you Dubnyk for Lundqvist straight up, hell I throw in Khabibulin as well just because I'm in a good mood. What do you say, two great keepers for the price of one who is already way down the hill?...
The guy just came off his best season in his career and you think he's done? LMAO
Relax he's being sarcastic. Trade Hank to us, he's done in NY
Hank has to play up to his own extremely high standards for this team to have success.
And he does every year when it counts the most.
What do you call fans who because of a slow start attack even the Best player who has given us so much we could never repay him for??
