I'm worried about the treatment of our players, youngins especially

Look at Boston and how they ease young guys into the lineup with limited minutes.

Not look at the Oilers where the young'uns are running a directionless ship.

Overall, I'd rather see a coach who is cautious with the minutes given to rookies, and makes sure they are sheltered and learn proper habits on the ice...not rewarding guys with tons of minutes based on their draft position.

Correct. Kreider should not be getting 25 minutes a game, no matter what this board says

RE: Kassian, the guy lacks motivation and is inconsistent as hell. He didn't really earn his ice time most of the year. Schroeder was decent, but he put in a much more consistent effort.

Gee, what two rookies on NYR this year does this remind you of (minus motivation issues)? What did these boards think of how NYR's last coach treated that situation?

He also shoudn'y get just 3.

I didn't like how Kreider was treated either - but let's be honest, he didn't earn his minutes. And let's also not exaggerate how he was treated. Of his 23 regular season games this year, he averaged 10:06 ice time. There were just 3 of 23 regular season games in which he played less than 7 minutes. That is hardly the dire scenario that a lot of people were making it out to be. The bigger problem was the yo-yo act; not the ice time he got when he actually played.

Who's talking about 25 minutes? 15 to 20 minutes would be a good amount for him to show what he's capable of.

20 minutes are the type of minutes you get on the first line of most teams. Kreider did not earn those type of minutes at all this year. Even when he was looking better on his second call up or when he was inserted into the lineup during the playoffs. Somewhere between 10 and 15 is maybe more reasonable. But also not that far off from what he was getting to begin with. And he needs to earn those minutes.

If Pit fires Bylsma, I'd be all over him.

Yea? You'd want the guy who got a grand total of 2 goals in 13 and a half periods (4 and a half games) out of a lineup that included Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, James Neal, Jarome Iginla, Brenden Morrow, Kris Letang, and a **** ton of better depth players than the Rangers? Yea, that sounds exactly like a guy who has a clue how to 'fix' the Rangers' offense!

Pure speculation which was entirely based on Brooks' piece of crap article. Doesn't mean it isn't true; but the quality of this "journalism" is just awful. Nothing articles mean nothing.

If we do end up with Bylsma though -- barf.

Exactly and why the **** would we want that clown coaching the Rangers. He has done nothing since Terrien did everything in 2008-2009! :shakehead

I can't stand when teams hire coaches from teams in the same division. Let him go out to Minnesota or something.

Vigneault does play a good defensive system. It's the offense I'm worried about.

they had a drop-off offensively this year...but the 3 prior years.

09-10: vancouver was 2nd in GFA, 6th on pp
10-11: vancouver was 1st in GFA, 1st on pp
11-12: vancouver was 5th in GFA, 4th on pp

i don't watch them all the time to know his system but i don't think the sedins are THAT good

yea they're not that good. they've only each won a hart, each had a 100 pt season, and combined for 9 80+ pt seasons

If you're going to base your argument off of a total of "4 and a half games" you would be better off not making an argument at all.

it doesn't appear there's a clearcut favorite for the job...messier begins to look like a more appealing choice.

You're at the store to buy an apple. There are a bunch of solid looking apples that you feel like you might enjoy. You can't decide which one to go with.

So let's pick that rotting apple in the corner.

Does anyone else hate Dave Maloney ? He is a shill for garden worse hen anyone I have ever seen
