Former Blackhawks connection in Calgary as Versteeg makes a beauty pass to set up a Brouwer goal against CBJ.

Forgot he still would be eligible for that since yeah he is only his 3rd contract year and hasn't played a lot.

But it made me curious to look up Clendening after recalling some saying he had a hot start. He's actually been a healthy scratch since early in the season since early Novemeber.

Yup, our coaching and management group seem to be making the right decisions when it comes to which players to trade so far.

Also, Sharp just came back from concussion, but he only has 2pts in 7GP so far.

I told you this was going to happen. Shaw is a good player but walks the line. Now that he got paid long term he has no reason to control himself.

Hartman has basically replaced Shaw (minus the PP portion) along with Motte.

Shaw turned into Alex DeBrincat and Chad Krys (this pick is debatable if it is good or not). You make this more 11/10 times.

Or, a leadership group of Toews, Seabrook, Keith, Sharp (for awhile), plus Q kept his ass in line.

Hell, I still remember reports of Handzus taking Shaw aside during the 2013 cup run and telling him to knock off or at least tone down the stupid ****.

Who's doing that in Montreal? Shea Weber? Carey Price?

Weber doesn't have the clout and pull of Handzus?

Handzus did it Shaw's rookie year (well technically 2nd year, though Shaw joined late in 2012). Shaw has since been to 3 more conference finals and 2 more sc finals than Weber.

No not at all.

Leadership is not the issue with his behavior. Shaw is the issue with Shaw. He has done this type of stuff many time before with the Hawks and will continue to do it with the Canadians.

Also - JD can you answer my question about the Hawks medical staff? You implied it was lacking.

Q has always seemed to reel players in that get too many PIMs.

Ryan Hartman is a good example this year. Last year in the AHL he had something like 90PIM. This year he only has 2 so far. Shaw's previous high was around 76PIM, he already has 56 this year.

Not sure what he does, if anything. But it sure seems like guys stay out of the penalty box in Chicago more so than any other city they play in.

To be fair, the IceHogs last year were something else.... there were fights almost every game.

But Hartman also did some dumb ****. Glad he cut that out.

Nobody wants to give Q credit. I remember Ben Eager was even worse, came here and was pretty solid with us under Q controlling his emotions, goes to Atlanta and was bad once again.

Hell, Ryan Garbutt was a piece of trash before he got here. Now he's a model citizen (still) on the ice.

People want Q gone but have no choices or ideas even replace him.

He has his issues but he is a damn good coach and a hall of fame coach.

People would hate Babcock and Bowman if they coached here.

They all play players they feel more comfortable with.

Yeah, Carcillo was another one.
