If Kane would waive for leafs I’d probably do it. A lot to give up, but would definitely complete our top 6.

Trade #3
To :rangers
C Max Domi
D Jarred Tinordi

To :hawks
LW Sammy Blais
RW Jaroslav Chmelar (Rights)
Rangers 2023 2nd round pick
Rangers 2024 2nd round pick

Rangers need C depth and Domi playing C with Hawks this year has been good not only offensively but at faceoffs (56.7%) while on Rangers only Trocheck is above 50%. It's a major struggle point for Rangers at this point

Rangers have also struggled with regard to bottom pairing LD and Tinordi going back to NY solves that issue. I suspect they didn't think they would actually lose him on waivers before season (Thus allowing them to put him in minors for later callup)

For Hawks Domi and Tinordi have played pretty good for Hawks this year (Two of the few you could say that about) and would certainly be upgrade for Rangers on current C and 3LD/Depth situation. Hawks acquire a 2nd in this year's draft, recoup a 4th in future draft they are lacking as a result of trade. Chmelar is also an intriguing Longterm project as a prospect who just began his NCAA career. Blais is simply in for cap/roster reasons
Props for not making this about Kane.

Let's remove Tinordi because there's no value there coming to NYR and Hawks don't need to clear his cap space to make this trade.

Chytil is listed as day-to-day, if by chance this was a bad concussion for Chytil, I'd then make the move for Domi, but Chmelar (although a long shot away from the NHL)feels like a throw away prospect here and I don't think he's needed for this deal to work. I think the picks are enough. Chmelar is a project that might be worth hanging onto for another couple of years based on his size and shot.

Edit: I read that as a 2024 4th for some reason. I wouldn't do Sammy and 2 seconds even if Chytil was out.

Bit much for Toronto to pay for Kane, but it's not an outrageous starting point. That's assuming he'd waive to come to Toronto.

The rest of those deals heavily favor Chicago. But it sure would be great for their rebuild if they managed to trade all those pieces. It's going to be an interesting tradeline for them.

I would do the Oilers trade if it was the 2024 1st pick. Puljujarvi and Murray are just fillers and meaning nothing

Toews/Murphy are not returning firsts, Domi isnt returning multiple 2nds. Maybe Seattle does the AA deal but that seems a bit high. The leafs deal seems closer but i dont think thats the immediate need the leafs would go all in for.

Expected to see Knies and say no instantly. I am impressed he is not in there but that is a hell of a package for a rental. My goodness. If he had another year of term on his deal I think the value is fair.. But

- a top 6 winger prospect already getting NHL games
- one of the Leafs better prospects who also plays with an edge
- an unprotected first potentially next year which we don't know what direction the org is taking. For all we know another blown playoff and Matthews refuses to sign and is dealt and the Leafs retool without their first.
- and another pick

For 2 or 3 months of Kane? I REALLY want Kane, but that is truly a MASSIVE package and franchise altering trade. I am not sure a rental has ever returned a package like that.
He's the best american born player of all time and would easily make the leafs cup favorites. Gotta give to get.

The Kraken don't really need more depth up front.
Our 3rd line consists of Tanev, Gourde and Bjorkstrand and we've got no problems filling the 4th line.

We also claimed Tolvanen off waivers last week, Donskoi hasn't played a single game yet and then there's still Shane Wright, who may or may not rejoin the team after the world juniors.

I wouldn't do a first for Connor Murphy. I would do a bigger deal involving getting Domi as well and include our 1st though. Domi (50% retention) and McCabe (we need LD, not RD) for our 1st in 2023, 2nd in 2024, Pulujarvi, Murray and a B prospect. I know the cap isn't quite balancing there, so something else would need to be done, but it's pretty close.

There's giving to get and there is potentially destroying your franchise.

losing in the first round is going to get dubas fired too

It's not in his character to try and make a trade to save his ass. If the Leafs fire him he'll be employed by next season and will 100% be a GM again some day. If he makes a deal he thinks it's a good trade

Trade #1 would definately get Dubas fired.
Unless Kane is coming with an exception, I wouldn’t make anything close to this deal for a rental. Robertson has shown he can play in the NHL, consistency is something he can develop.

I also think we need to stop trading our firsts and continue to develop.

Murphy bring zero offense but at the same time even if it is his strength he isn’t really know for is incredible shutdown ability or zone coverage, he is a good skater and big he can play 20min a night in the regular season not sure he going to cut it in the playoff for a contender. Also isn’t he a RD with 3 more years at 4.4M$… I feel like EDM need a LD to play with Barrie or Bouchard also probably need some that has a lesser cap hit term or that actually has a track record of being able to do the job… a 1st 23 or 24 plus 2 NHL body seem pretty expensive not even sure if I consider it a contingency for EDM but everyone in CHI is more than willing to pull the trigger.

Sounds like hyberbole. Hirvonen + late 1st + the worse robertson brother aren't some kind of game changing prospects that you might think they are, but only on HFB do prospects have more value than players currently playing. Leafs best chance to win is now, they need to stop p***y footing around and just go all in on a forward like Kane or a bonafide top 4 defensemen to solidy their depth if they want to have any chance of winning it all.

I 100% believe Jonathan Toews is going to be 2C for the Avs going into the postseason this season, but man a 1st and Behrens is a bit high for me.

I'm fine with a 1st an a good prospect but I'd prefer to give Olausson over Behrens.

And we don't really need Jack Johnson. You can keep that salary.

I think Murphy can/will get a first.

And regarding the Avs proposal, it's much too expensive for a guy who can decide where he wants to play.

Read an interesting article on FB today. Kane makes sense to NYR for a lot of reason in this article.

Mainly due to Panarin in NYR and Rangers have the first round picks that Chicago would want as well as prospects.

Anyways this is the article https://www.nbcsports.com/chicago/blackhawks/what-would-blackhawks-rangers-trade-involving-patrick-kane-look
this one sided baitclick article needs to be confronted, so it may be pummeled into submission!!!

1. Assuming Kane has not lost much in the tank, which is a legit concern atm, his price should be for a half year rental, not insane overpay. Period.

2. Anyone should realize it is most likely he goes to Buff, b'c family is/is near there. Sabes wait the half year, get him for free.

3. Rangers interest is NOT this damn, stupid, win now mentality which, given it is cup or bust, is failure in 99% of all situations in all sports in recent memory. Exception was NFL Rams, and that is only b'c Niners were stupid, and with a lead, insisted on playing an injured Jimmy G over the backup.

NO, ADAMANTLY NO.

4. Rangers actual best interest IS to get as many bites of the apple as possible, by extending young core. This means creating space for Chytil, KK, Krav, etc etc and long terming KAM sooner than later = cheaper in the long run AND NOT FAVORING VETS.

5. So not only does this mean no Kane idiocy.
It means the preferred course for NY is to ask bread if, once Kane is in Buf, if he will agree to waive to go there.
Panarin will not waive to go just anywhere. And he prob wants a cup and if NYR is further along, those chances go down slightly if he waives.
Howev, in 3.5 years he will not only get nothing like what he is getting now, but he is not gonna get any offer, b'c what NY cap might allow, if anything at all, would be an insult. He surely recognizes that.
I see if Kane is on board, and has not cost any assets due to ufa signing, and Sabes have half dozen decent or better Fs and emerging D corp w/2 studs headlining, they really only need to quality add, and then like NJ/TOR get lucky in finding a decent G solution.

Bread retained from 11+ to an even 10 + Avalanche 2023 3rd to Buf for 4 picks, all 2nd/3rd rounders, plus, of course, signif cap relief.

THAT is the win win here
And if whoev wrote that article wants to debate me at mutually convenient times, that can be arranged.

Beyond stupid to think Rangers should pay Chytil + for half year of a possibly deteriorating Kane.
beyond
