With the DTC, will viewers be able to pause, fast forward and rewind? Also, will game replays be available?

So the games, that’s a yes, there will be the pause, the rewind. We are going to make the replays available, too. It may take a couple days to get those files up and going. But that’s the plan – full-game replays and DVR functionality for the games.

Sounds like you'll be able to pause/rewind/fast-forward while the games are going, but if you miss out on the broadcast entirely, you might have to wait a few days to watch any replay.

With the pricing of the app subscriptions, I know there have been a lot of questions. From what I understand, DirecTV and others have a say in the number so it doesn’t price them out. Is that correct?

You’re 100 percent right. When you look around the country market to market and you see $19.99, and in this market, you see Marquee at $19.99, these deals are done so that we don’t basically compete against our own paid distribution partners. So contractually and from a partnership standpoint, we set them to really show our respect to DirecTV and eventually to Comcast where we’re not competing against them. We’re not trying to take their customers. We’re just making these available at a price point that still preserves the business relationship with them and gives fans just another option.

The price is set to not piss off Directv and, if they eventually agree to a deal, Comcast. That's capitalism in action, folks.

There's been talk of the PWHL expanding, and I'm not going to lie my thoughts have morphed from, "I hope they expand to Chicago," to "I hope they're not stuck behind CHSN if they expand to Chicago."

If Danny has overseen this rollout as much as BizOps (Faulkner or whoever) then I feel much less optimistic about the future of this team because what an absolute joke of a rollout...The NHL as a whole is just a micky mouse operation...How is it that the NBA has the most sensible/logical streaming options and the NHL has ESPN+ and thats it. NBA has YT tv, DTC, pay per game, one team only etc etc...Ya know, logical options for fans

I'll be honest, if my wife or someone else bought me a year subscription to the CHSN app as a Christmas present, I would feign appreciation but my gut reaction would be annoyance that they spent so much on a worthless gift. I'd rather get a gift card to a store I don't like that doesn't even have any locations in Central Illinois.

Hadn't had this thought before, but that $20 cost is gonna look even uglier in February.

Team isn’t even worth the time to watch as of now let alone pay $300 lmao f*** off

True. I've already lost interest and we're not even at game 20.

I'm at the point where Wirtz would have to pay me to watch all 3 periods. I'd accept 10 bucks a period to make it worth my while. We have 68 games left. 68X10X3 = $2040.

Watching this type of hockey for the past 3 seasons has taken it's toll.

I don't get why anyone would pay them in market when you can buy an antenna for less than half of a month's subscription and if you're out of market there's much better much cheaper options.

Numerous people reported on here that the antenna didn't work. If you're lucky and get good signal, more power to you for having a cheap option. For me, it didn't work for shit. And I'm not the only one. So I went VPN since I already have ESPN+. And the VPN has more beneficial uses besides just being able to watch Hawks games.

I can understand people who aren't tech savvy going with the app just for simplicity sake, though.
