GDT: Hawks @ Bolts, 28 Jan 2025, 6 PM CST

Well if Jones pkays more +3 games with 2 points to EARN $9.5 surevhecwill get credit from me..

But this tyoevof imoact has been so rarevi his career with the Hawks that you do notvget excited by rare exceptions from hom.

GIVE us a $9.5 82 game sesson THEN I will get excited about him..A small run of 6-19gamesvof positive play like this will not cutbit.

So sure credit him for earning his pay tonight..but let us see if he shows this form the remainder of the season.

Changing spotlight to Bedard...a more engaged gane from hom tonight..not justvthe generational shotgoal..

He had 12 shot attempts..which indicates he spent more time than usual in the o-zone...1 goal on 3shog =33.33% shooting...but 1 goal for12 shot attempts is rather sad and bad..the breakdown was 3 shog 5 shot atempts blocked and 4 shot attemots missed the net . This tells us he still has a lot of trouble getting his shots through the clog and onto the net...in co tract Hawks had 3 blocks each of Hedman and Raddysh shots ..both dmen ..which you would expect..no TB forward had anywhere close to a combo of 9 shots blocked or missed the net.It is unusual for a forward to have 9 shot attempts not get on net ..so something still very wrong thatvNedard is so ineffective...1 goal on 12 shot attemots is absurd even if a genererational highlight reel shot.12 shotcattenots should be a 5 or 6 shot on goal night atvleast!
So Bedard should b vscoring more goals if he keeps pumping out 12 shots attempted..
But real inefficiency like this has got to be rectified.

You really don’t know much about hockey do you?

Or he is returning to health.
Could be a part of it for sure especially because he is a tools player.

He did look out of place but I thought it was more mental. Maybe he couldn’t do what he is used to though who knows.

This team can’t even tank right, we are gonna end up with second overall and another failure draft pick, I would be ok if we were tanking and we had a good GM with a plan and to pick the right guy at number 2 or 3 but you know we are gonna get a restarded pick again.
Oh no, second overall! How will we ever deal with such a draft pick?!?

The team that finishes in last place is more likely to pick 3rd than they are 1st or 2nd. So even if we were to finish last, we'd be unlikely to pick 1st. Maybe look into the rules about the draft lottery rules instead of bitching and whining on the internet about something you seemingly know little about.

And of course you're the type to use that word, typo or not. Why am I not shocked?

Only watched the highlights unfortunately, but the whole team seemed to play with more jam and balls, physical.

Sorensen's message well received I guess.

Incredible goal by Bedard.

We might have something really special in Soderblom... He was amazing. What a turnaround, Vlasic vibes.

I’ll tell you how they will deal with it, they will draft Levehunov instead of Demidov, that was the whole point of the post how did that fly over your head? Are people have issues understanding the basics of what history has taught us so far? I can’t with this board it hurts my brain.

So now you don't want to comment about 1st overall? Now you wanna move the goal posts because someone corrected you on draft odds? Draft odds the rest of us have been aware of for years now.

You can't complain about a win and say 'the team's ruining the tank' and then say 'I meant the GM would make a bad selection with whatever pick we get'. So why the hell are you even bringing up the fact the team won then if you're supposedly aware that we would almost assuredly not pick 1st even if we finished last, as opposed to 2nd last?

What a joke. Go back to dumbf*** Twitler if this is the low level of discourse you're going to bring to this community.

As I've said previously, this site isn't meant for hockey novices. Maybe that's why your head is hurting.

Couple observations. Jones plays well with Martinez. At the start of the year they were together and that was Jones best stretch before Martinez was hurt.

Vlasic and Crevier also fit well together. The twin towers out there. Soronsen is finding some chemistry with the top 4 D. I think that has a lot to do with our recent run of good play.

The speed up front by the kids is noticeable. Nazar, Slaggert and Reichel all back teams off with speed and cause problems on the forecheck, especially the first two. It’s not hard to see this team is gonna be a pain in the ass to play against in a couple years. Massive D who can move, puck hounds up front and a game breaking forward as the centrepiece.

What on earth are you even saying? If you finish last place you have the highest odds of picking first, are you ok? That is literally how it works, what goal post? Again are you ok? Last place equals highest odds, the goal is the highest odds to PICK FIRST.

Last place has highest odds at 25.5%
2nd last has 13.5% to pick first
3rd last has 11.5%

It is laughable that people who don’t even understand simple numbers try to educate you on numbers

If he can improve his skating a little more over the summer, that would be huge for him and the Hawks.

Would be great, but I think he will improve a lot even if he just gets used the NHL reps and timings. Slower guys need to rely on smarts and anticipation, so I accept some really good improvement to come.

He's big, defends well, is physical and has some sneaky good offense in spurts (which we saw examples already).

Great add. Has been my favorite from the young guys for some time, nice to see him hit the floor running.

Good win here. What a conundrum to be in. It's nice to see the team playing well but jeez I hope they don't play themselves out of a top 3 pick. The team could really use a Schafer or a Misa.

It is laughable that you're crying about not being the absolute worst team in the league when that team only has a 1/4 chance at picking 1st overall anyway.

Still 6 points behind Buttalo who are 3rd worst in the league. Next ahead of them is Nashville with the same amount of points but 2 games in hand. I'd still be really surprise if the Hawks jumped either in the standings.

What is slightly irritating is it seems the Hawks are (rightfully) always playing good teams backup goalies and picking up points because of it.

Yep I've noticed that myself. They get treated like the rollover team these past few years.

I mean, understandably so .

Sometimes you're the bug and sometimes you're the windshield. In most games these past couple seasons the Hawks have been the bug. It'll be nice to see them (hopefully) become the windshield again at some point in the future.

I go against literally everyone to say the cold hard truth that no one wants to hear,

Son, we live in a world that has walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with guns. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg? I have a greater responsibility than you could possibly fathom. You weep for Santiago and you curse the Marines. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know; that Santiago's death, while tragic, probably saved lives. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, *saves lives*.
