Chytil and Kravtsov have that potential but I rather push them down the pecking order.
 can't believe i forgot about kravtsov lol. to me, he's far more likely than chytil, but if im being more specific, it needs to be a high end center.

i spoke in another thread about how all of the past cup winners (minus the year letang got injured for PIT) had an elite defenseman, but they've also all had a top end center (toews, bergeron, kopitar/carter/richards [pretty sure he was still good in '12], toews, kopitar/carter, toews, crosby/malkin, crosby/malkin, backstrom/kuzy)

another conversation is how overrated toews is, but he's still a top end guy whether overrated or not lol

He has 110 points in 128 playoff games... there are plenty other players more overrated than him. He's just not a stat padder

Nothing beats Valiquette getting giddy over a blocked shot despite the fact that his own analytics say shot blocking is dumb.

Not what I quoted. ;)

You are confusing attachment and the presumed thought processes [projection].

Are you talking about the guy who is "projecting" a co-worker's actions (and perceived motivations) onto ADA? Because that's 100% transference.

edit- I see where you're coming from, nm. We're just tackling it from different angles.

All of it. gonna be a long road.
oh i agree 100% that this will be a long road, but that doesn't mean you hold off on things that should be decided now, like:

1) deangelo being here longterm, kids the offensive talent that teams salivate over, and he's figuring out his D game by game
2)kreider being resigned (as long as his ask isn't absolutely ridiculously out of this world (i dont think it will be))
3) nieves, who is still young, being pegged as that guy for the 4C position, since he will still be young-ish when were ready to compete again. the other option is not committing and ending up signing a veteran/journeyman (which rarely works out aside from moore)
4) identifying our glaring weaknesses that need to be filled for this to be successful. in fact, isn't that the point of the rebuild? to get the top end D and C that we need?
