The more I let this sit, I'm fine with it.
1. Byram is an immediate help to our blue line. The D is better because of this trade.
2. Byram is more of a guarantee than whatever D was there at 4, whether it is Reid, Carels, or Smits.
3. Byram fits the age profile of our club, so that is fantastic.
4. Crevier and the 2nd will ultimately be nothing.
5. Greenway might not be a lot, but is actually quite shitty to play against. He was a menace when he was with the Wild. I think (if he is healthy) he can be quite effective.
Now Kyle has to see what we have with the forward group and either let them grow, or spend along the way and find immediate help again.
One thing is very clear, they are turning the corner on the rebuild. They aren't rushing with out-of-age players or anything like that, but they've signaled that they aren't going to be patient for many more seasons.
