Technically he played the 3rd most minutes behind Dahlin and Samuelsson. But I think he was paired with Samuelsson most of the season.Did Byram not play the second most minutes in Buffalo? By definition, is that not a top pairing dman?
Seems like a stretch to claim he’s a second pairing guy. Draisaitl isn’t a second line center just because he plays there.
The bet is he becomes the outright number one guy. He’s already a top pairing guy.
And Samuelsson's numbers were better. Byram had 42 points in 82 games and Samuelsson had 41 points in 78. But Samuelsson had zero points on the PP and Byram had 7. Dahlin had 22 on the PP. The biggest difference was +/- where Byram was +15 and Samuelsson was +41. I guess that would indicate they didn't play together.
