Prospect Info: Hartford Wolf Pack/Cincinnati Cyclones Thread: Part XV

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

The vast majority of the young forwards are developing really well. None of these guys are top line players with the exception of maybe Perrault. Othmann, Berard, Chmelar, Roobreck, BMB, Laba, Sykora.

All of these guys play hard and are projecting well. Chmelar, Roobreck, BMB, Sykor and Laba are likely a full year at minimum away. But they’re all doing well.

Nice shot Othmann on a 2 on 1 with Berard in overtime.
Just Before that he made a bad turnover that led to a Bridgeport 2 on 1.

Hartford is 7th right now, 5 points behind Lehigh Valley and 6 behind Springfield. LV has a game in hand and Springfield has 2 in hand. You need to be in the top 6. The current position is not where you want to be, but since you play so much in-conference and in-division in the AHL a couple good weekends can flip the script. That's what happened a couple years ago when they were 7th or 8th and dead in the water, and then a month later they had a legitimate chance to finish as high as 3rd (they ended up 5th but comfortably in the playoffs).

I'm not sure Othmann or Berard come up unless the Rangers are out of it. If that does happen it will be a blow to Hartford. However, I also believe that Drury will make a couple trades to help Hartford as long as they can tread water until near the TDL.

EDIT: I actually looked and in somewhat of a scheduling quirk we've already played all of our games against LV and don't play them over our final 25. We also have just 2 against Springfield. The schedule actually sucks, LOL. So they've definitely made it tough for themselves.

I wouldn't trade Kreider for cheap but if we can get a good deal I could see it and bring up Othmann. With Edstrom out we could probably bring him up anyway. Or if we move either of Vesey or Smith.

Watching the Roobroeck/Randl fight on hockeyfights. Not sure what set that off. Roobroeck went rather gently into a puck battle along the boards....looked like Dylan wanted to pull away after the puck came loose and Randl didn't want to let go of his stick and next thing Randl wants to fight him and it wasn't close at all. Randl's only like 5'11. Roobroeck using his reach was just popping him with uppercuts.

Thanks as always to Clark for the highlights. I watched the first live and saw Matthew Robertson fail to cover an islander who had not scored a goal this year for a tip in.

I know this won’t surprise any of us who follow the WP but on his latest podcast Vince M responded to a question about Robertson with the Rangers don’t see him as a prospect. Doubts he’ll be back next year.

I think I saw that Charlotte is getting some good players back from injury. Might be tough to duplicate last month’s 2 game sweep there.

Final, Charlotte 4-0.
During the 1st and 2nd period Alex Thomas played an interview with HC Grant Potulny. Potunly was talking about the other team in the AHL and how at this point in the season there are no surprises.
If that’s true then Hartford’s season is a failure.
Scanlin, Sykora, Fitzgerald, Chmelar and Domingue with particularly bad games.
Berard, Othmann good effort's. Othmann with a fight at the end of the game.
Only standout was Branstrom. Solid player, good on defense. I’m sure everyone is aware that he is undersized.

18 shots on goal, devoid of talent is too harsh, but overall, they are just bad.

It will be good to get a forward vet reset this summer, Belzile, Jake L and Blidh should be headed out of here.

Wolfpack need young vets that actually know they're not stuck in the AHL so they'll actually try to help the youth while also tru8jt to get called up

Good to hear Brainstorm was good. Glad I wasn’t able to make it to Charlotte this time…
