Did I miss the announcement that the AHL banned defense from its games?

3-3 after 1. Pack get 2 power play goals from Ronning on a blast from a Bitetto cross ice pass and Greco with a high tip in from a Jone shot. Jones also scores picking up the puck down low.

Kinkaid pulled after giving up 3 goals in 5 shots. If you think the Rangers should trade Georgiev and go with Kinkaid as a backup this period would make that thought terrifying. Of the five shots the two he saved led to rebounds that resulted in goals.

Kinkaid back in net. No Pajuniemi or Gettinger. 6 D with Tinordi and Giutarri out. Digiacinto and Girduckis in.

Hopefully they play better tonight.

Pack got better as the period went on and they tie the game at 1. Nice work behind the net by O'Leary to get the puck to Reuschhoff who finds Lorito breaking down the slot for the goal. Khodorenko made two good plays and was much better than he has been. Hartford 11-9 on shots.

Much better performance than the past few games.

Jacob Panetta is back with Jax:

I really don’t think that gesture was anything more than a tough guy imitating Tom Wilson. Assuming that’s true I’m glad people are moving forward.

Is scanlin eligible for playoffs?

Also say we sign travigno, would he be eligible? I forgot the rules to this
Yeah he should be (Scanlin). The guys on NHL contracts needed to be on the AHL roster by 3PM on (I believe) Monday in order to be eligible for the AHL playoffs. That's why if you look at the transactions page you'll see a million transactions and most were guys in the NHL being assigned to the AHL and then being brought right back up--paper transactions. It's notable because Schneider was not part of this transaction flurry, meaning while he could go back down to Hartford, he couldn't play in the playoffs.

College guys and CHL/European guys who sign after the TDL aren't subject to the same rules, they can still play in the playoffs with the AHL team if they're assigned there.

Once again, thank you! You’re awesome!

And that should mean that Brodzinski cannot be on the playoff roster. That's probably why the Pack traded for Nick Merkely. The team misses Brodzinski's offense. Merkely will fill that void.

kinda surprised they didn't 'paper demote' Brodz and Schneider, so they could rejoin Pack, if NYR season were to complete before Pack's

Pack lose 3-2. Lundqvist takes a penalty late in the game and Springfield gets its second PP goal. Pack tied it at 2 with the 2nd PP unit. Pajuniemi with a Zibanejad type shot from the wing set up by Ronning and Robertson but it was a heck of a shot.

Many of us have talked about how Huska doesn't make the spectacular save but doesn't let in any easy one but he let in a softee on the first goal as Anas took a shot from a very sharp angle that somehow got through.

I only watched the scores on replay as I was watching the Rangers and catching up on the Mass-Minnesota game. Bobby Travigno would look really good in a Pack jersey.

The game started out with Scanlin playing with Jones, Lundqvist with Tinordi and Robertson with Skinner.

Forward lines are Lorito-Fritz-Merkely, Ronning-Khodorenko-Greco, Pajuniemi-Richards-Reuschhoff, O'Leary-Whelan-Taylor. I don't understand why you play three veterans together and then have your two best forward prospects saddled with an offensively deficient Richards.
