Stromer's littlest bro. I always wondered what the dynamics and interactions would be like when two (or more) brothers make it and one is garbage.
Normally playing in the AHL would be considered a pretty big achievement, but not for guys in that situation I suppose.

I remember when the 'buzz' was that Jared Staal* might be the best of the bunch

* 2 NHL games, NA pro career ended at age 25 with a full season exclusively in ECHL

Bill wasn't garbage, but maybe got some benefit of the doubt thanks to his older brothers

Agree. What I saw with Huska last year is that because of his size he stops all of the easier shots but he is not going to stop higher quality shots at a rate you would like. So it's not surprising his shoot out record is an 0-fer.
To me it’s a very big red flag if a goalie struggles consistently in shootouts

Agree. In addition, I agree with cwede that Robertson looked good and I thought Reunanen had a good game particularly on his pass to Resuchhoff for the latter's goal. But without Greco and Ronning (presumably out with covid) the offense was lacking. Sanchez was moved up to the second line to replace Digiacinto and REuschhoff up to the 3rd line in the 3rd period to try to juice the offense.

Didn’t watch the whole game but what I saw; Jones, Schneider and Barron stood out.

Agree that he is ready. But you can't play him with Lundqvist. So you either have to have him replace Lundqvist or take Nemeth out and mix up one or both of the other defensive pairs so that you have a more physical defenseman playing with Lundquist and Jones. The probability that the Ranger D corps will go through the whole year without an injury seems pretty small. The Rangers need to end the Tinordi experiment. I understand he is physical but he is not good and his turnover today led to the third goal. And the Rangers are not likely to be able to afford Nemeth next year. Jones likely will get a chance this year when there is injury and have a full shot next year unless he is traded.

Still crazy to me that Zac Jones is not on the Rangers. He is 100% ready to be a real contributor.

I believe that both Nemeth (cap space) and Lundkvist (trade) are gone giving Jones and Schneider an opportunity next year.

i agree he's ready for the opportunity, but have no problem with him having most of the year at AHL level

8 months ago he was still playing college hockey.
Hs chance will come, and he looks to be very good

injuries may happen, or leadership may just look to shake things up - Nemeth sure seems like just a placeholder ...
