Rempe, Edstrom, Trivigno
Korczak, Anisimov, Elson

Mackey, Brouillard
Hillman, Scanlin
Robertson, Hollowell

Yep, playing on Rempe’s line.
Trivigno must feel like he's 6'3 playing with those guys, especially Rempe. Dude will smash anyone's face in.

Stars not in alignment for the Wolf Pack tonight.
Michael DiPietro playing spectacular.
Hartford had some unusually sloppy turnovers and it seemed the all ended up behind Garand.
Here’s an interesting fact I learned from Alex Thomas.
Rempe is2nd on the the team to Brett Berard for most even strength goals this season.
Final 4-1 against.

Surprised Toronto gave up on Hollowell. Maybe he got lost between the cracks with the Maple Leaf GM change?
While he's talented offensively he's just not very good defensively. Toronto is desperate for defensemen and the team let Hollowell walk at the end of last season.

That is very interesting but unfortunately it shows the team is not very offensively talented. Losing Brodzinski and Nash has really hurt. Without them the center play is very weak.

Good point. I believe this is true. I know Reaves was not a good player for the Rangers but I did feel the Rangers played a little more assertively with him in the lineup.

Speaking for myself I enjoy watching this team, win or lose. Though last night was definitely near the bottom of one of the valleys.
…and you’re probably right that Knoblaugh/Smith set up this system because of the lack of offensive talent that was made available to them.
But regardless of whether any of these players become NHL regulars the majority have bought in and play a true North/South game.
Mentioned in earlier posts that Trivigno and Othmann were the exception but even now Trivigno has bought in.
Othmann gets a bit of a pass because of his talent but if he gets to stay till the end of the season and into the playoffs I believe he will become a power forward and not just one of the Courtnall brothers.
Also I want to say that another joy of watching this team is to see with the exception of Sykora and Henriksson all Wolf Pack Players are in your face, don’t backdown and are more than capable of playing an aggressive chippy game.
Henriksson and Sykora are my no means meek they just don’t initiate confrontation as do the rest of the team.
Now for anyone who was brave/bored enough to read this e-book of this post, I’m curious to here what their opinion is on bringing in such disciplined players and having them fit into the systemless style of the Rangers.
Like putting a saltwater fish into a freshwater pond.
My AHLTV/Wolfpack subscription is one of the best bang for my bucks I’ve ever spent.

In our prospect group---not just Hartford but elsewhere I see a lot of forwards with bottom 6 NHL potential, two or three with middle six and at least one with top line potential. Realistically breaking in three guys to the NHL a year is a lot and doing it in consecutive years might not work well. One or two is a lot easier and it looks to me like two anyway and maybe three once in the next couple years....so some of them are probably going to be moved too.

That said I think the idea of buying up an UFA like Goodrow in the next 5 or so years is just not going to happen. The Rangers are going to have plenty of guys to choose for those roles from their own development system---and that probably means we can push more cap $'s to top end players. It also I think will mean we're going to have a bunch of hungry young guys in our bottom 6 which I kind of like the idea of especially if they're scrappy and aggressive or even big and nasty. It won't make us a fun team to play against but it should make us a more fun team to watch. I'll be happy as well if we don't trade off too many of our top drafts picks.

I don't think we have enough good defense prospects. Robertson could still get there....Scanlin but they're not sure bets. Jones could turn into a good player but he doesn't look like a great fit for us. Fortescue having a good D+1 year. Mancini's another maybe. It's a pretty mixed bag and I think the Rangers need to shore it up a bit. I like Garand as a goalie prospect....apart from that maybe Ollas but finding another good goalie prospect wouldn't be a bad idea either.

Correct me if I’m wrong but a team can only carry three retention’s?
Maybe swimming against the tide but I wouldn’t use one on Goodrow in a trade and I wouldn’t want him traded unless it addresses a need or is an overpayment.
Paraphrasing Cooper “It doesn’t matter if Barclay Goodrow isn’t scoring goals; he’s the type of player who you put on the ice with a minute remaining protecting a one goal lead.”

I think Goodrow is a useful player for us still. People don't usually give a lot of love to guys that do a lot of the unappreciated jobs and Goodrow does a lot of that for us. I'm not criticizing him or the roles he takes on. That said his cap hit looks more and more out of line when he's hardly producing any offense. Partly the point I was making though Is whether a young prospect becomes a 1st liner or become an NHL depth player if they're good at the roles they're in they become major assets because they help the team just giving us cap flexibility. We don't have to make deals to fill out depth or bring in someone expensive on our bottom lines.

This Rangers announcement at this time of the year seems to indicate that the Rangers have interest in Scanlin. It's not surprising to those of us who have watched some games and generally followed the team.

I’m all for it. Believe he can fit in on an NHL team as a 5/6 Defenseman.
Play both sides. Haas good size and is willing to play heavy.
Good job Chris Drury.
