Frustrating second period. Laval basically entered the o zone twice and scored both times.

Meh… I’ll make an excuse.
4 Starters up with the big club
3 Starters LTIR
39% skaters out of the lineup
True but I hope they don't plummet in the standings now.
Berard seems like the only bright spot right now on the team. I know Sykora has been good as well but Berard seems to be the only legit dangerous player out there right now.

If Vesey doesn't work with Zib they should move him back to the 4th line and give Berard a shot.

It would take all of the stones but at this point might as well try to solve this in house.

I always preach dont rush the kids
But this is the situation where giving Berard (or Othmann) an audition makes sense; genuine need, minimal risk

I didn't watch the game but just went back to view the scoring plays. As Raspewtin noted above Domingue was terrible tonight. I think he might have been able to stop all four goals. If this team doesn't get good goal tending it's not going to win. The current team works hard but it's offensively challenged. Clark raises all the right points. Losing Harpur and Emberson has weakened the defense and with Brodzinski up with the Rangers and Nash hurt this team is just awful at center generating little offense. I'm happy for Belzile that he was called up but he would be more helpful if he was playing with Hartford than being the 13th man on the Rangers.

Alex Thomas again said Berzola, Pekar and Nash are still week to week but it's been several weeks.

The Rangers really need an upgrade in young talent for Hartford next year. Perhaps BMB, Laba and Chmelar up front and Mancini on defense and maybe the Rangers will become more aggressive this year in the free agent pool.

I’m not as sure.
Othmann is still figuring out the pro game. Only 5 even strength goals in 41 games. Great shot but keeps to the circle’s. Does hit but a bit of a cheater in the d-zone.
Berard drives play. Where would he fit on the Rangers ?
Panarin carries the mail on his line and Zibanejad on his.
I don’t see a fit on lines three and four.
I’d let them both finish out the year and have Henriksson be their Center. With Othmann on his left and Berard on his Right unless a trade(s) sends Brodzinski back down, unlikely though.

Watched the Wolfpack game last night -- after watching Berard, I agree with you.

It can be pretty safely concluded Edstrom would be graduating this season. Not so for the rest of the current AHL crop: Othmann will probably get shuttled, Rempe and Berard will be getting their cup of coffee but will spent majority of time in Hartford. The ones you mentioned will join Sykora who’s still going to be pretty young.

The issue will really be on D. Both Scanlin and Robertson will be waiver eligible so probably at least one will probably get included in the varsity. And that’s it. Drury sure will try to sign some college UFAs to go to Hartford.

If I had to make a guess, I would say Robertson and Jones (if there is a market) are traded and Scanlin becomes the 7th d.

I've been watching the Pack the last few weeks and concur with the majority there that I don't really see it with Othmann yet. Shoots a lot and is physical, does great work on the boards, but he cheats a lot defensively and isnt' really driving offense at ES.

Sykora tries really hard but definitely needs to bulk up. All effort but he bounces off players a little bit too much.

Berard is the Pack's best player and an A+ line driver. Hard worker every shift and has good speed with it. He's without a doubt my next call up if it were up to me.

not surprising, and no real info in this post

but FYI Keegan maybe becoming the go-to, at "X", for consistent and useful Pack info

Pack sign Blade Jenkins to AHL contract

they'd had him for a couple days on PTO a couple weeks back
LW, 23, drafted by Isles 134OA in 2018
played OHL thru '20
had 3 year ELC w Isles, no QO last spring

"As a little boy, young Blade wanted nothing more than to be a full stack developer when he grew up. Unfortunately for the young man, his parent's questionable decisions regarding his name sealed his fate..."

Agree.

Last night I noticed he quoted coach Smith when asked about the Scanlin signing:

Smith on the Scanlin extension: Scans might be our most improved player from the beginning of last year to where he is now. He’s a consummate pro. He’s the first guy in the locker room and the last guy to leave each day. The contract he got was well deserved.

Wolf Pack down in Bridgeport.
1-0 after one. SH goal from Elson.
Penalty filled first period so mostly specialty teams.
2 different unsportsmanlike penalties to Hollowell and Brouillard and the end of the period for yelling at the Ref.
Brouillard thrown out of the game
11 minor penalties in total between the two teams and one game misconduct against us.
Garand in net.
Edit: Brouillard got a 10 minute misconduct not a game misconduct. Still in the game.
