FWIW Pack recalled DiGiacinto Tuesday,
View attachment 790892
They play tonight

NYR have NOT been carrying a 13th F
NYR may need to recall a F for tonight?
OR perhaps more likely, NYR want to take a spare F for the upcoming Florida weekend games
I’d assume this is more for the pack with sykora at the world juniors, but could be wrong.

They got lots of Fs in the roster, but something going on,
last night DiGi was in lineup along with just healthy Lesch and often-scratched Elson, while Nash, Korczak not.

Just saw tweet that Nash out week to week, Korczak missed for personal
AND NYR just recalled Edstrom

Fan of Steve Smith. Accurately called for his hiring two or three weeks before it actually happened when Gorde Murphy was brought up to work with Gallant. Last night’s loss is on him in by opinion.
This is not Pee-Wee hockey. Should have rolled three lines and spotted a fourth.
Nash was out with an injury and Korczak didn’t dress (reason unknown).
Belzile playing Center( ?). While Rempe who is playing great is Centering a fourth line with two ECHL players, Pekar and DeGiacinto.
Leschyshyn first game back after a long injury should have been spotted along with Pekar and DeGiacinto centering the 4th line.
Rempe was one of the Stand-outs last night carrying the puck from D-zone to O-zone.
Edstom also a stand-out. Garand shouldn’t be faulted for the two goals he was on the ice for.
Scanlin and Robertson steady again. Been putting a string of good games lately. Trivigno was engaged.
Heads up. Saturday’s game is an earlier start. I believe 6 P.M. ET.

I don’t have your faith in Smith
Hadn’t even been impressed w his work as AC w Pack (I had been in favor when hired)
The team had strong start but here come dog days and roster challenges of being an affiliate
Will still hope they reward/protect hot start with an experienced HC

@Osminator are you going to return to Wolf Pack hockey for the second half of AHLTV?
It has been really enjoyable this season so far.
Yoyo.. sorry for the late reply. I've actually returned, starting to enjoy Alex Thomas calling the games too... I've seen some great games, but since they were gutted and hit with injuries, not so bueno these days. Of course, loosing Knoblauch didn't help either. I find them playing "sloppier", especially on D, since Knob left for Edmonton... Hope they turn the corner again. They are fun to see and play when they are all healthy and clicking <3

You are correct about the defense but I don't think it's because of Knoblauch leaving. At the beginning of the year I thought the defense would be solid but unspectacular. But with the loss of Emberson and the injury to Harpur the defensive side of the defense has taken a big hit. Hollowell, Brouliard and Hillman are guys that can move the puck but are not very good defensively. Robertson had a bad start to last year playing with Welinski and then played better when paired with Emberson. This year he's played mostly with Scanlin but a couple of times he has been moved to play with one of the offensive defensemen it's been a disaster and he's been moved back to Scanlin. Scanlin and Mackey are now the only consistently reliable defensemen in their own zone. I wouldn't be surprised to see a trade for a defenseman at the trade deadline.

Hollowell, Broulliard and Mackey's play have dropped off greatly, uff. Also, losing Harpur hurt. Something ain't working in the D zone... not clearing the zone enough, lazy and dangerous plays...
4:41 to go in the 1st, down 2-0 nothing to the Islanders... Injuries and callups really are hurting in the last 6-10 games.

From Luke Fox of Sportsnet on Toronto's options for finding a goalie:

Perhaps the best low-risk, low-investment option I heard is Louis Domingue.

The 31-year-old career backup was stellar this season in his one appearance for the New York Rangers, who are set with Igor Shesterkin and Jonathan Quick.

Domingue makes just $775,000 on an expiring deal and has been solid for AHL Hartford (8-2-2, .911).

Of course, the Rangers have Stanley Cup aspirations. They, too, are aware of the importance of goalie depth and won't be in any rush to do a conference rival any favours.
