Yeah I thought he made solid progress in the second half of last year, but the mental mistakes are still far too frequent and he hasn't developed as hoped.

Still, I think there's about a .01% chance that they don't give him the QO. They may well trade him at the deadline as a sort of throw-in, but if they hold onto him they won't walk away. We don't have much in terms of D prospects. Fortescue, Kempf, Mancini. Larsson? Unless you count Jones or Scanlin, that's it.

Thats the Rangers fault for not drafting dman that can play the pro game 2 or 3 years after they get drafted or sign a bunch of Dan Girardi undrafted free agent types.

Great defensive play by Pekar, springing a 3 on 1, but he waited too long to pass it.

Hope I’m wrong but the next penalty will go against Hartford.

How would they know?
They drafted Miller and Schneider. They made it.
Jones is on the cusp.
Lundkvist was projected to be a sure fire prospect.
Traded for Hajek and Rykov and they were also slotted to be NHL players.
Robertson was an excellent CHL defenseman.
Scanlin is steady as free agent signing.
The team did do it’s due diligence, just didn’t hit on as many as they would have liked.

Yep and also brought in Ty Emberson who is doing pretty well for himself.

The six prospects you listed are not top prospects but I think there are some possible bottom pair players. The prospect pool for centers is much weaker.

Predicting which Wolf Pack prospects will make it to the Rangers is difficult because the NHL salary cap makes it hard for bottom 6 forwards and bottom 2 defensemen prospects on competitive teams to break into the league with that team.
A G.M. can get a solid veteran through free agency for under 1.5 million or less; why gamble on a rookie who comes with growing pains?
We saw this preseason that Laviolette held Edstrom and Rempe till the last cuts.
Salary and veteran players like Wheeler, Pitlick, Vesey and Bonino all on or close to league minimum worked against them.
Bedard and Sykora might face the same obstacles in their future’s with the Rangers.

Thanks been meaning to talk to D depth
Yes there have been misses. Add Keane, Gross, Ragnarsson, Sjalin to those names
But the NYR recent D pipeline has a flip side
Look at the big club. 5 of 7 D (Fox, Lindy, Miller, Schneider, Jones) are all guys who made the NHL w NYR. How many other NHL teams can say same? Maybe none
Of course that left a mark on the pipeline.

Don’t forget Graves and Lundkvist. And oh yeah who was one of the trade assets used to bring Trouba?
