Will Cuylle reminds me of Jake DeBrusk.
Hartford leading Bridgeport 2-1 halfway through the game. Goals by Brodzinski and Leschyshyn.
I can see that though 1) it took DeBrusk several years to get to where he is now and I could see the same happening with Cuylle and 2) Cuylle plays with a bit more bite to his game. He's dropped the gloves 7 times this year and DeBrusk is not really a guy that does that much at all. He might have 7 in the last 10 years.

True:.Was making the comparison about his skating style and how they both drive the net.
Wasn’t thinking about the grit.

Pack win 4-1.

In the second Brodzinski steals the puck at center ice and breaks in 2-1 with Cuylle. The defenseman goes down to take away the pass and Brodzinski shoots high over Schneider for the goal.

Later with the Pack on the PP Pajuniemi brings the puck into the zone and finds Leschyschen coming down the left wing and he shoots over Schneider from a difficult angle. In his prime I think Schneider stops both of those shots.

Towards the end of the period Scanlin takes a snapshot from the blue line that hits an Islander and goes in. The goal originally goes to Scanlin but was changed to Henriksson who was unchecked in front and must have deflected the puck in.

Brodzinski with an empty netter to seal the game. Islanders have 16 shots in the third but can't beat Domingue.

Stars are: 1. Pajuniemi, 2. Scanlin, 3. Domingue.

Pack now up by one over Bridgeport although Bridgeport has a game in hand. Pack have Providence Friday and Lehigh Valley Saturday. Bridgeport has Providence Saturday and Lehigh Valley on Sunday. Lehigh Valley up 3 over the Pack with a game in hand.

Just before the Pack scored the second goal on the PP Cuylle made a great toe drag and almost had a great goal. Schneider was able to get a glove on the goal.

I'm sure it will be on the highlights and it's very impressive.

Big win for the Pack, 5-0 final over Providence.

Here are the goals:

1. On the PP Jones shoots from the blue line and Carpenter tips it in. Jones is very good at getting pucks through to the goal.

2. As play winds down at the end of the first period, Pajuniemi dumps the puck into the corner, Fritz gets to the puck first and finds Blidh in the slot all alone at 19:57. Looks like Providence fell asleep.

3. With the score 2-0 heading into the third Carpenter breaks in 2-2, holds up and finds Lockwood breaking in and squeezing one by the goalie who will want that one back
4. Pajuniemi brings the puck into the zone and passes to Blidh who throws the puck to a streaking Fritz who beats the goalie.

5. Cuylle shot is stopped by the goalie's shoulder but he can't control the puck, Kalynuk picks up the rebound and passes to Brodzinski who attacks the net from the angle and when Providence defenders go to him he finds a wide open Leschschen who puts it home.

Three stars are 3. Blidh, 2. Domingue and 1. Carpenter. Pack outshot Providence 29-25.

Berard played with Elson and Henriksson on the fourth line and had one shot on goal.

With the push for the playin games, I doubt we will see Rempe or any of the rookie forwards other than Trivigno who may alternate with Berard until the Pack clinch a spot or are eliminated.

Lehigh Valley won tonight and Bridgeport was off. Pack are three points behind LV with LV having a game in hand. Pack an LV tomorrow night with game on the NHL Network. Pack have to win this game to have any chance of catching LV. Pack are 3 points ahead of Bridgeport but Bridgeport has two games in hand. Bridgeport plays Providence tomorrow night and then play Lehigh Valley on Sunday.

It's actually typical for a guy coming out of college to the AHL towards season's end to struggle to put up points. Almost everyone in the AHL can skate and check like maniacs. It's not an easy league to play in.

Hoping that we see some of the ATO guys in the next few games. Out of all of them, would benefit Edstrom the most as he's the oldest and strongest.
Only 6 games left and team in full playoff mode. Maybe one ATO guy gets in on the fourth line (Trivigno and Berard are alternating) but it's clear priority is making the playin game, not developing the kids.

Garand made a good save, got run into, but no call. Paju went the other way and scored on a breakaway.

Edit: 2-0 Pack now. Looks like Lockwood tipped it.

Edit 2: Scanlin with a good hit, got challenged by Alex Kyle and they fought. Pack gets a PP out of it.
