Pajunneimi now has 19 goals in the season and Carpenter just scored for his 19th.
Brodzinski(20) and Cuylle(24). Chance this year of having four Wolf Pack players hitting the 20 goal mark.
Anyone know when was the last time that happened?
Hartford 2-0 at 11:54 of the first.
Edit: props to GAGLine’s eyesight. Goal changed to Lockwood. Carpenter at 18 goals for the season so far.

It's actually typical for a guy coming out of college to the AHL towards season's end to struggle to put up points. Almost everyone in the AHL can skate and check like maniacs. It's not an easy league to play in.

yea i know it's a big jump. not many guys jump right in and take off for sure, and some of that depends on how much opportunity is available. that said, haven't really seen anything about him. given a big part of his game is skating, and if he makes it would almose def be as a bottom 6 forecheck menace... even in a limited role was hoping to hear he'd been playing a style that got noticed. since i haven't seen him, haven't seen him producing much, and haven't seen him mentioned much just got that vibe but was curious for more feedback. flipped to game today but haven't seen him

He's definitely going to get challenged sooner rather than later. He's huge and plays a physical game, there are lots of guys in the AHL who (despite not being close to his size) will be itching to test him.

And it will be interesting to see since in the SHL, like most international leagues, you're not really allowed to fight. I don't know if Edstrom has ever fought at all. He may need to learn quickly.

Blowing it open now. 4-1 on goals by Fritz and Brodz.

Edit: 5-1, goal by Carpenter.

So with tonight's win the Pack move within one point of Lehigh Valley but LV has one game in hand.

Bridgeport wins tonight so the Islanders remain 3 points behind the Pack but have two games in hand.

Tomorrow Bridgeport plays Lehigh Valley.

The Pack need 11 points to clinch the final playoff spot. That's points they get from winning and points the Islanders lose if and when they lose. But since the Pack play Bridgeport once more the team controls its own destiny to get those 11 points.

Remaining games:

Wednesday -- Toronto Marlins

Friday -- Bridgeport

Saturday -- Providence

Friday -- Wilkes Barre

Saturday -- Springfield

Only 6 games left and team in full playoff mode. Maybe one ATO guy gets in on the fourth line (Trivigno and Berard are alternating) but it's clear priority is making the playin game, not developing the kids.
Another issue -- Trivigno replaced by Barard at LW. Edstrom replaces Barard at LW. If Sykora gets in he probably replaces Edstrom at LW. Maybe the team continues to rotate the fourth line left wing but until the team qualifies for the playoffs or is eliminated it doesn't seem likely that this coaching staff, which I think is under a great deal of pressure to get into the playoffs, is going to give much of a chance to the new guys. Rempe also stapled to the press box.

Lehigh Valley now up 3 points over the Pack with both having five games to play.

The Pack are 3 points ahead of Bridgeport with Bridgeport having one game in hand.

The Pack magic number to clinch the sixth playoff spot is 9 -- any combination of Pack points from wins and overtime losses and points post by Bridgeport through losses of any kind.

To say next Friday's Pack game against Bridgeport is critical is the understatement of the year.

Before that Bridgeport has Springfield on Tuesday while the Pack have Toronto on Wednesday.

Toronto is winning 5-2 over Belleville late in the 3rd. With that win, they will clinch 1st place in their division. Hopefully they will rest some players on Wednesday.

so 1 point up on bridgeport with the same number of games played.

5 games left including against bridgeport on friday. That game could determine who makes the playoffs

Its too bad we dont have the cap space to give Pajuniemi an NHL game or two at the end of the season, while resting one or the veterans. Same concept in not being able to recall Cuylle as well to rest a 2nd vet. But it is what it is.

Scanlin vs Robertson. Is one clearly better than the other at the moment? I feel like more people pencil Robertson in because of his draft position but Scanlin was a sought after UDFA

IMHO Robertson is a bit ahead, thanks to competitive experience, having played Junior, and its his 2nd AHL season. But very close.

Earlier in the season I thought Scanlin was maybe outplaying Robertson, but I think Robertson has elevated his game the last month or two.

I also really like Emberson. He's a righty, I know, but he's good up and down the ice.

Blidh scored with 1:12 left in the game to give the Pack a 1-0 lead, but they let up a goal with 12 second left. Going to OT.
