2nd period

5 mins in Gettinger with like his 3rd shot already he’s having a better game was very quiet last weekend.

Rykov continuing to make plays turning his hips and walking the line.

boo is playing better as well he’s been awful but he’s buzzing

Sure enough those 2 connect shortly after Nieves from Getts and Keane on a point shot tipped by Getts and Nieves there are the top of the crease to whack it in.

Shesterkin is a really interesting goalie stylistically. He’s all legs if he’s really 6’2 (I doubt it but they all fudge) it’s mostly legs so he takes away the whole bottom of the net. His butterfly flare also is super wide so literally just eats the bottom of the net.

And his Upright stance is wide but he keeps his torso very straight making him look much bigger than he is.

now like I said his legs are where his height comes from not his torso but again the way he holds his edges so long keeps him up and big longer than you’d expect. There just doesn’t look like a lot of net to shoot at where as a guy with a shorter torso that drops early leaves a lot of room under the bars. He like Georgiev just stays up so long. Georgiev isn’t as wide but they both hold edges ridiculously.

Third Period

I’d say lias has been involved. Few nice plays in the first period like I mentioned below the dots, around the front of the net. He’s there but he’s certainly not an impact player even at this level. He’s a complimentary player it’s disappointing anyway you slice it but if he can put up pts that’s great. Like I’ve said at wing he may find his place.

Shesterkin meanwhile continues to make plays with the puck. It’s a real weapon just set up his teammates for a 2 on 1 they almost convert on. So much confidence from him

Fogarty blocks a shot from the point with his hand and immediately goes to the locker room that’s not good at all. They lose him it will be devastating for them. And for him he’s hit another level as a player here.

Shesterkin then slides across the crease and eats the puck on a 2 on 1 makes it look easy. No rebound.

the lateral ability of Shesterkin and Georgiev is elite. They don’t spend time on their back or butts

10 mins to go still 1-0 Gettinger has had multiple opportunities in this game somehow missed a cross crease one here. This is his most involved game in quite some time.

Oh they’re reviewing that chance but no goal

another Pack pp here. Lettieri takes a shot with no screen easy save. Then gets another one this time on a one timer feed from Keane that was a great save.

Another point blank chest stop by Shesterkin no problem. bingo has 10 shots here as they push to tie this up 6 mins to go

Gettinger picks up a loose puck at the top of the slot wires one thru some traffic makes it 2-0. Well deserved guy was buzzing all game. With about 5 mins to go.

Keane take a penalty late and bingo scores 6 on 4 with 2 mins to go with a big shot from the point thru a lot of traffic that deflects off a Pack player in front. Shesterkin never saw it that’s a shame deserved the shutout for sure. Had just made a few big stops right before. 2-1

couple more big stops late here at 2-1

pack ice it with the empty netter Jones steals it in the offensive zone slides it in

I wish he was centering the Rangers 4th line. what is holding him back from being a NHL regular? i thought he had potential as a 4th line Blair Betts Dom Moore type

Howden back to AHL where he belongs for now

I hope Howden does not end up like his brother but I have that feeling

Agree... Howden should be getting 1C/2C minutes in Hartford... he's a ghost in the NHL.

I wonder where Kravtsov will slot in. Fogarty was 2RW last night. I imagine he could start there. Or Newell and ZG move up and Krava gets the easier minutes to begin with.

Depends on if Fogarty injury was severe or not.

for short term, Meskanen removed from roster today,
give his slot to Elmer,

they have 4 games from Sat to Wed,

i don't see Krav playing before Tuesday soonest
use these games to sort out who demotes for Krav,
from among LZG, Dmowski, Gropp, Elmer, Newell
if Fogarty misses a few games, more guys and shifts can get evaluated
 
Why doesnt the AHL consider Igor a rookie??

It can't be because of age because their are older players that are considered rookies.
 
I would like to see Kravy at LW. Maybe not on Saturday, but down the road with Lias at C and Fogerty at RW.

Lias is a great teammate, his competitiveness and professionalism is second to none, I think Kravy would be helped by playing with him.

Depending on how Fogarty is doing could see Kravtsov sliding right into that spot next to Beleskey and Lias if he’s seriously hurt.

maybe they bring him along slowly otherwise with Gettinger and Nieves? Shame for Newell who has been playing well lately in that spot.

if Fogarty is healthy I’d really like to see him called up he’s earned it. Put him next to Smith Howden for a bit. At least give him a few looks. Opens up serious ice time for Kravtsov

There are options there on all three top lines in HFS to insert Kravstov.
