Pack ahead 1-0 after the first period. Ebert with the goal from DiGiuseppe and Lettieri and Fogarty is playing like Ola mentioned. Shesterkin in goal.

Good to have Kravtsov back but no he's not playing tonight. Probably want to see him in practice at least once.

Especially with no injury to Fogarty and Hartford playing wel, there’s no need to rush inserting Kravtsov into the lineup. Let him acclimate and train and I’d be looking to the next weekend at the earliest.

Rangers need to sign Nick Jones since Meskanen contract is gone

I just listened to a post game interview with asst. coach Gord Murphy and he was asked about Jones. Basically he said that Jones had been dealing with a bad cut on his knee for a while and that it slowed him down--but he was a very hard worker. Murphy went on to say that he's just really getting his stride back. So maybe he's ready to break out a bit. I got the impression that the Hartford coaching staff like him a lot so it wouldn't surprise me if the Rangers did sign him.

He looked good in preseason. I like him better than Nieves as a 4th liner.

Someone isn't listening to @Ola's plan to move the team to Chelsea Piers.
I love @Ola ’s idea. A 3000 seat arena on the west side is do-able, I imagine, and would be kind of great for the players. It would be the showcase spot for the AHL. Rangers could buy a building and offer subsidized housing. Call-ups would just stay put. Would make the whole goaltending carousel a breeze next season. They’d sell out every single game. It would be a riot.

Yeah, out oh all those guys like Zerter-Gossage, McBride, Dmowski, the AHL contract guys, he was the best. He was also better than Elmer and Newell, IIRC. I wanted him signed right after Traverse.

I thought it was him, but was confused why we stopped hearing about him. Guess injury would explain that. But yeah, he looked real good there, and given the contract space we have, i think he should get one too

There is a general belief that a few years in NA, even if its in the AHL for guys that don't cut it, can strengthen players pretty much. Just to play a different brand of hockey that is more oriented around puck battles, smaller marginals and a faster pace. I think many players feel that it will be good for their career to spend some time in the AHL even if they are heading in the wrong direction.

The problem for Meskanen is that he is a RHS sniper specialist, and Vinny L just pwned that role for HFD and Meskanen never took whatever chances he got. If he doesn't get to skate away a bit from the traffic and be served passes -- he is like everyone have seen a pretty average player overall.
That’s a great point. I hadn’t thought of it that way. My NA mind only thinks like, “NHL or Bust”. But if course, it makes total sense. A broader perspective, and deeper tool kit, these are great assets for a resume.

@Kovalev27 you mentioned Shesterkin dangling opponents. Can you elaborate? Is he really aggressive with the puck? Sounds like he’s a ‘plus’ puck-handler.
Gracias in advance!

Yeah, he started out good but then kind of fell off. I had no idea why but now we hear it was an injury, so that makes sense. Hopefully he keeps it up and we get him signed.
