It’s obvious the Rangers brass started to give a shit about Hartford and it’s showing.

There’s no reason Hartford shouldn’t be as well run of a AHL farm team as someone like Toronto. It’s not like they don’t have the money to make it work

Goalie stats are starting to separate a bit more:

Shesterkin: (7-3-3) 2.06 GAA / .927 save %
Huska: (4-1-3) / 2.43 GAA / .911 save %

In terms of "closeness" that's what they've looked like all season. If anything, it's just a drop-off for both guys from their impressive peaks. But a .30-.40 GAA difference and ~.15 SV% difference has been what we've seen all year.

I think it was a coupe weeks ago when Igor had a SV% around .940 and Huska was at like .923 or something. The team hasn't been playing as well and both their numbers have taken a hit.

EDIT: On 11/10 after his start Shesterkin's SV% peaked at .939. Huska played the game before and finished with his SV% at .913. So if anything it's just Shesterkin (and Hartford) regressing to a mean, where Shesterkin has given up 3 or 4 goals in 5 of his last 7 starts (after allowing 6 total in his first 5). Shesterkin is still having a great year but his earlier performance was likely unsustainable. Huska has just been above-average-to-good all year.

Hartford has a lead after one on a Beleskey goal. Fogarty with an assist. Hartford out-shot Lehigh 14-6. Shesterkin between the pipes.

I see the Mariners are pretty mediocre this year with 17 points from soon to be 18 games. What is their "Maine" problem this year?
depends on the night, but from what Riley Armstrong has been saying very inconsistent play would be the "Maine" issue, some nights it's no compete level as Brick would say on the Boston telecast, like last night you're seeing a Fuel team that was 2-9 on the road, the three in 4 @ Norfolk they had Norfolk was struggling, not sure if it's overlooking the opponent independent of what the record or stats are

Hartford tied with Lehigh Valley Phantoms 1-1 late in the 3rd. Shesterkin in net--Beleskey with the Wolfpack goal from Fogarty and Taylor. Hartford's carried a lot of the play.

Phantoms win in OT 2-1.

Yeah, I saw that. Doesn't sound like guys were very happy with McCambridge. Every mention of last season by guys that were here is about how much better the atmosphere is. Which is good and bad, I guess. Bad in the sense that it's unfortunate that we as an organization allowed it to deteriorate like it did.
Agree on all points. But I’d add that players are also welcome to improve the atmosphere too. That’s the other half of the equation. It’s coaching *and* leadership from within the team. Thus there are Captains. It’s a two-way street, as they say.

Yeah, as I understand it, Detroit for example always had a very sharp atmosphere in their dressing room during their best days.

I think more than anything, it comes down to a coach being able to read his players. Some need to be pushed, others need to be supported, some are best left alone and so forth.
