Putting him with DiGiuseppe and Fogarty is a smart move imo. Both are good AHL scorers, but also not bad defensively.
this just proves what most fans have said once Andersson was drafted. we just drafted the next AHL superstar with the 7th overall pick as the next Derek Armstrong
Watched some of the game, and especially Lias shifts.
From the little I saw he was OK. It’s a start, no miracles over night.
He made one play that I loved. It’s in this situation:
Lias has the puck low in the picture, and makes an absolutely perfect north-south area pass to the forward at center ice cutting across the ice to the left side.
That is quality. Some don’t quite see much if anything in Lias, but this is one example of plays he makes that very few can make.
I am absolutely certain that if he can get his overall level of play to a level where he is a solid center top 6/9 when it comes to going up and down the ice — this overall high quality level that he had will have a significant impact.
With this said. You like to see a whole lot more from Lias in other areas. Especially when it comes to driving the puck up ice as a center and so forth. But that is why he is down there. Why he probably should have stayed longer in Sweden and longer in the AHL than he have.

good first game for lias...hopefully a sign that he is going down there with good attitude like chytil did...did anyone watch that could guess on how much ice time he got?
playing down there should do wonders for his confidence...the question that I have though is that if Quinn's issue is that he doesn't play fast enough (and clarified that isn't just about skating), going down to the AHL where the game is slower, will that help him learn to play faster in the NHL? regardless its better than getting 5 minutes in the NHL but can he 'fix' his issue that quinn doesn't like? only time will tell
