good first game for lias...hopefully a sign that he is going down there with good attitude like chytil did...did anyone watch that could guess on how much ice time he got?

playing down there should do wonders for his confidence...the question that I have though is that if Quinn's issue is that he doesn't play fast enough (and clarified that isn't just about skating), going down to the AHL where the game is slower, will that help him learn to play faster in the NHL? regardless its better than getting 5 minutes in the NHL but can he 'fix' his issue that quinn doesn't like? only time will tell

Playing faster might just mean making quicker decisions and/or being more aggressive. He can absolutely make those adjustments in the AHL.

that 100% is part of it...but you could appear to be thinking and making decisions quicker at the AHL level cause the game is slower. not saying that it can't help, i'm just questioning out loud how it will translate when he goes back to the nhl.

Well, I look at Chytil and how he has played since he came back. I'd say that he is certainly playing faster and more aggressively than he was in the preseason. Hopefully the same magic works for Lias.

I’m halfway thru the game (on demand)

so far lias has been alright. Not great not bad but at least noticeable. Had a one handed tip in the first that got to the goalie then went to the net hard To get to it and created some havoc (also got popped in the mouth).

he’s playing on the top line. Though so he’s getting mins.

one negative he had a 2 on 1 with Phil DG and got it with a real good chance to shoot but tried to pass it back and got it broken up. That’s just confidence right now. But he still isn’t moving his feet. He doesn’t look any faster here yet so that’s what the coaches really need to focus on him with.

Shesterkin looks great. And Joey Keane looks just so confident and smooth at this level. Really happy with his progress. 0-0 right now with 10 and change left in the second. Pack don’t have a shot in this period

At the 6 min mark Shesterkin just made the best save I’ve seen in a long long time. Slide laterally and made a glove save on a shot under the bar I mean. Looked like Marc Andre Fleury in his prime with that push across wow. That was unreal 0-0 still

Zero chance on the goal against puck just kind of squirted out into the slot from behind the net for a layup.

oh and he’s the second goal against the puck hit something in the boards in the corner puck flips right out to the slot Shesterkin was heading out to play it as was the D. Total fluke goal. 2-0 Crunch. 2 goals in 50 seconds

Not a good period for our boys. Didn’t get a shot till late only had a couple total in the period.

I honestly did not hear Lias’ name once during this period after a decent first.

were you at the game?

Norfolk's lineup includes a Hartford player Shawn Mcbride, #17
did you notice him much?

had 2 shots, was +2
Game Center

thank you
Norfolk also has another player that was tossed in the altercation with Racine, as well as the goalie Maine had last season as well, cwede.....McBride was traded to Norfolk because of the roster limits in October while on IR, and transaction-wise was placed back on IR after the Admirals acquired him through trade; he was out there, but from what I'd heard nothing special.... 6-1 Loss, but the quirk is 2 more games on Friday/Saturday

sorry if already posted above
Elmer reassigned down to Maine, i guess due to Belesky becoming healthy

Jake Elmer Reassigned to Maine | Hartford Wolf Pack

also re HWP, Leslie Treff tweeted this week that Fontaine my be out quite a while - anyone have any details of his injury? - thanks
I saw something about Fontaine the other day. It was just reported as an upper body and that he might be out two weeks or more.

Third goal was another cross crease play this time a tap in so really Shesterkin has zero chance on any of the goals.

he was very good.

Lias although quiet went to the net and popped in a rebound. That’s gotta be his bread and butter. I really wish they’d move him to wing though to focus on that. He still looks shell shocked I’m sure that goal will make him start feeling good about himself hopefully get his swagger back.

Bingo--the game started at 11am and had over 3,800 in attendance.
Yep, I now see it was "Sonar's Edu-Skate" day for the Pack.

Also, Knoblauch on Andersson:

“It was nice to see Lias play hard,” Knoblauch commented. “I thought he played well. His enthusiasm and attitude is great and what we expected. We thought it was a good step for him.”

That's from the write-up on the Pack's site.

here's some Rangers/Pack/Mariners Alumni news: G Brandon Halverson (Rangers 2nd rounder 2014) WILL likely be signed to a PTO by the Providence Bruins by the end of this weekend.... Halverson was the mainstay of the Mariners inaugural season, and has parlayed that into a contract with the Norfolk Admirals, who are an independent team this season;

Maine and Norfolk meet in the middle game of the 3 in 4 tonight @ Norfolk Scope

breaking from the league:

as a result of HIS actions Wednesday night in Norfolk, Jonathan Racine was fined and suspended for three games under the supplementary discipline program..... so no Racine tonight, tomorrow night or the next home game against the Worcester Railers
