Manny Malhotra's biggest crime was being the first guy picked and sold as the face of the rebuild. completely overrated by neil smith...if people had listened to John Muckler he had a good career for what he was...

the neil smith rebuild was basically like if we had drafted Lias Andersson in 2017 and then said we were done, no one else added...Manny never got a kakko or kravtsov or fox or miller or lundkvist or panarin or zibanejad etc to share the load lol

That's not accurate, considering the next season we had two top-10 picks. The Rangers (and a lot of the hockey world) thought they had a Kakko-level player in Brendl.

That being said, Smith's defensive drafting in the 90s turned out to be absolutely awful. He drafted like 4 defensemen in 10 years who went on to have a decent career.

I was told Brendl would bring us the cups, i'm still waiting for the cups.

OMG i remember being so enthused about all those guys Jarvis, Weinrich, Smith, Silverman, Martin, Campbell, Galanov, Sorokin, Henry, Brown, Sundin, then Kloucek, Kallarson, Laatikainen,

Is this deja vu with Fox, Hajek, Lindgren, Rykov, Robertson, Miller, Keane, Lundqvist, Day, Jones, ...
