They clearly don't have a John Gilmour but Keane, Raddysh, Rykov and Day all have offensive ability. If this is Hartford's biggest problem it should be a great year.

A couple comments--Nieves is obviously going down today and potentially even Haley--I suspect Zerter-Gossage is heading to Maine then and/or possibly Meskanen's contract is terminated. I don't see Taylor hanging around when Hartford's defensive picture clears up. He'll be the odd man out IMO.

All in all I think Hartford's team looks much stronger than it has in many years. The one caveat I have is that they don't really have a great offensive D player. To me that's the team's Achilles heel right now. All other areas look good.

as many of you know, AHL limits the # of very experienced veteran skaters that can dress each game

below are the guidelines, and a quick, best-effort table of career pro reg season games played, for the more veteran guys, on NYR or HWP deals, who may play for Hartford

FAQ
What is the AHL’s development rule?
Of the 18 skaters (not counting two goaltenders) that teams may dress for a game,
at least 13 must be qualified as "development players." Of those 13,
12 must have played in 260 or fewer professional games (including AHL, NHL and European elite leagues),
and one must have played in 320 or fewer professional games.
All calculations for development status are based on regular-season totals as of the start of the season.

awkward legalese wording, but it means that
(a) no more than 5 dressed players can have >320 games,
(b) one more veteran with <321 but >260 is also allowed

for this year's HWP, this means that
with NYR, HWP, MM rosters as current, HWP has no issues related to this re who they dress ...

IF all of Smith, McKegg, Haley, at some point, joined Beleskey, LoVerde and DiGiuseppe in Hartford,
all 6 could NOT all dress together for any game

Tolkinen and Chase (currently in Maine) are the only 260<>320 (ZT just barely)

ie if all 8 were w HWP, 2 of them couldnt dress (and those 2 could not be Chase and Tolk)
i expect that should never happen, unless many many kids are injured,
as probably, if they put more NHL vets in Hartford, any guys they recall from Maine would most likely be 'prospects'

As Eco's Bones correctly predicted, Zerter-Gossage sent to Maine with Nieves joining Hartford. Pack Roster Update | Hartford Wolf Pack

One of the Wolfpack Bloggers, Greg Markiewicz, attended the Wolfpack Meet and Greet last night and took this picture.

It's too bad Rykov was injured at Traverse City and never got a chance to compete but the Wolfpack defense should benefit.

Welcome to collegehockeystats.net

anyone familiar with AHL tv? whats the quality and can you only watch games live? or can you watch them the next day since rangers and pack might play at the same time?

Any reports on the line combos in Hartford? I haven't been able to find anything.
