I'm right here @Ola :) I don't remember Calling you insane but i do use hyperbolic language from time to time to underline a point. My memory isn't great but i remember you were way more negative about his skating then you make it out to be now and i know i didn't call Wahlström a great skater. Also Worth adding some context to Wahlstrom, he's currently scored on 2 of 30 shots, Sh% of 6.67% for a guys with an absolutely filthy release, i dare say regression is going to hit him soon.

The point here is not that Wahlstrom cannot get his stats improve (and Ola specifically said he’s not calling him a “bust”), it is that he’s not that sure fire prospect he had been made out to be.

My point is Ola calling me out without tagging me while scewing the narrative in his favor.

On Wahlström being a sure fire prospect? I think he's a high end prospect who's off to a slow start in his college career. @Ola patting himself on the back seems quite premature, especially since i'm assuming he's seen close to 0 minutes of Wahlströms college career so far (might be off here, correct me if i'm wrong).

I am now and i was pre draft of the opinion that Wahlström together with Zadina has/had the best shooting ability in their draft class and i value elite shooting ability quite highly as it tends to translate very well going forward.

The local analysis on Wahlstrom (not saying from you specifically) was a lot more glorious than how you portraying it now. I remember Ola’s posts and their tone was exactly what we often lack around here when it comes to evaluating 17 year olds - a proper amount of uncertainty.

You know who else was a first rounder and has an NHL caliber shot? Pirri.

You don’t have a great memory? Hahaha, it’s certainly tremendously selective. Time after time it turn out that you have no clue whatsoever what you are talking about when you are watching players. Sean Day? Wahlströms skating. Still you just keep attacking other posters? Maybe it’s time to slow down a bit?

I like your statistical analysis though and how you don’t get influenced by others when you summarize it, go your own way. I am not calling you out, just hiding from you because I know exactly what I will get when ever you get into a discussion.

Sorry if it sounds like i'm underselling, i had Wahlström ranked really high (don't remember exactly now but t)hink i had him #4? too tired to actually check, might have been #3 or #5 too.) and i don't see an issue with his skating. He's not the quickest skater in the world but he can move well enough and his shot is lethal.

Well, i like Pirri :) And his shot isn't "NHL caliber", it's borderline elite.

No, i don't have a great memory, hence why i lean towards analytics i guess. Some things stick some things don't memory is a fickle thing.

"attack", come on buddy. What about Sean Day? My math failed me in that argument when i said top percentile, other then that i stand by what i said, his skating is elite. And i definitely stand by defending Wahlströms skating too, it's fine. Maybe you are the one that should slow down.

Have you watched Wahlströms games in college? Is he looking slow? Show me video evidence of this if you have then :)

I'll keep it civil if you do.

Tobbe- OK let’s call a truce, but if you jump me for something please remember it a few months later and don’t pretend like nothing if it turns out I had a point because that gets to me.

Nope, haven’t seen a second of OW since the U18, actually have not watched much hockey at all. None of the summer tournaments etc.

The problem with OW is that he is a bit flat footed, and 210 lbs on a 6’1 body. This while everyone else is super slim and quick. OW definitely has the best release I’ve seen in years next to Laine of course. But I think it will be hard for him given how the game is looking right now. Glad we got Kravtsov for sure. But you never know with someone like OW, all of a sudden they manage to find ways to use that shot at higher levels and it pays off.

So i think we found the disconnect, you're not actually talking about his skating, but more his work ethic and i guess hockey IQ? Correct me if i'm wrong.

If that's correct then i can kinda see where ur coming from but i Think it had more to do with him playing for NTDP with Hughes then him actually being a floater. Because in most of the actual "tough" games with NTDP he skated hard from what i saw (admittedly i didn't watch THAT many games)

Edit: I'd like your last post if i could but i lost those privileges :D

I think Ola is talking more about him being kind of heavy footed rather than necessarily a slow skater and that could be impacted by his size at this point as well. I think he's said the same thing about Day and Miller...from what I can tell Ola highly values guys with quick feet and has a lot of questions about players who don't.

So I'm still not sure about Hajek. He's a work in progress defensively but good offensively from what I gathered?

Pretty much, it's not that he's bad defensively, he's just a bit up and down which is to be expected for a rookie D-man in AHL. He's consistently shooting the puck offensively though and he's making smart plays in the OZone.

He was supposed to better defensively than offensively, right? So this is a good sign. Any chance he's a top pairing guy?

Our prospect ranking list is gonna look a lot different come the winter ranks.

@Ola
@ManUtdTobbe

Any indication what his salary was with Färjestad last season?

Did some googling and in the year 2016 he made ~$35-40k

Worth noting that half of that year he was in Allsvenskan with AIK and that had he stayed in Färjestad this season he was due a big raise… My guess is he comes in at somewhere around $15k a month now, maybe more since it's kind of a short term contract.

More if he goes to NLA/KHL

Georgiev officially sent down this morning. Team has an 11am game. Wonder if they just did that on paper and he was ready yesterday. I’m assuming so. Prob will play today then come right back up is my guess.
