I've seen this comparison a few times now (I assume in jest). What's the reference?

There is a certain poster who made these claims right after he was picked in the draft last year.

Said poster has some evaluations that can be described as "out there" to put it kindly and doesn't take kindly to being called out on his evals.

Pavel Buchnevich (the poster) said he thinks Miller sucks as a prospect because he reminds him of Sean Day.

Ah, I should of remembered that. Thanks, guys!

I've never had much hope for Day (although I like the strategy behind the pick), so every time I've seen him and Miller being compared I've cringed a little.

It was a dumb comparison to begin with.

Miller's greatest strengths are Days biggest weaknesses.

There's quite a few good reasons ol' PB doesn't post on the NYR board much anymore. Part is because he's too busy "scouting" guys for his top-62 draft list.

The specific criticism of Miller was that he had no tools.

I’d imagine putting every single person that disagrees with you on your ignore list doesn’t help.

I wouldn’t post either if I came here and every thread was blank :dunno:

There's a lot of people here who think they could coach better than the coaches.

There's a lot of people here who think they could scout better than the scouts.

Sometimes it's the same people thinking they could do both better.

The Phoenix area cabdriver taking Senators players to their hotel is instructive though. To coach at all at the NHL level these days anyway your players are going to have to respect you. For non-players I'm sorry you'd never get that respect from your players. They don't give it very easily and if you can't move about on hockey skates forget it. It doesn't mean your ideas or thoughts are necessarily bad though.

Anyway Pavel Buchnevich is a good poster. We've fought now and again and don't always agree. That's okay--we're both stubborn and I can live with it anyway. From what I've seen so far I like K'Andre Miller a lot--maybe even more than Kravtsov. It's kind of a toss up for me. I think we got a steal.

Pack up 2-1 on Utica. Gettinger and Meskanen with the goals, Fogarty and Hajek each with an assist (Fogs on first goal, Hajek on second)

I like Meskanen. He's strong and skilled. I definitely think he can have an NHL future.

I know the production is similar, but I'm not sold on Lindqvist. I just don't know if he's strong enough and can operate within the limited space of the NHL.

I never really noticed anything extreme with PB and am not commenting on him, but posters that are too cocky and always are right never hangs around long. Just once I would like to see someone like that drop in and say hey, you had a point there.

I was declared insane by another Swede poster for some of my posts on Oliver Wahlstrom’s skating last season. I think they were pretty spot on the more I watch of him, see that he has 2+0 in 8 games in college now. It’s just one of those things that you know you are right and it’s not even up for debate, OW is far from a great skater and has problems covering ice and pushing the pace. Not saying that he will bust for sure, wasn’t saying that last spring either, but I definitely think he will have issues along the way at the very least. If you are repeatedly very wrong on very obvious — and easy to spot — issues maybe it’s time to slow down a bit with the ‘I know everything’ approach, but some don’t function like that. Then they dissaprar after a few years.

I remember having a heated debate with Edge and Mac last season on Howden, I have no problem admitting that I was wrong and they right — somewhat ;) — on that one. A lot of stuff is very very hard to read.

Well, I reckon you're being polite in that first sentence of the first paragraph.
