Why are people so incredible stupid that they care about our AHL team making the playoffs? Who gives a crap. The AHL team is there for one reason. T0 develop players for the NHL. A lot of teams litter their AHL teams with never will be vets which make the team good. The Rangers have always used the Pack first and foremost as a tool to produce NHL players which is what it should be.

You don't think gaining some playoff experience is beneficial to their development?

Hartford is fine. They have a really young team. Last night they iced a team with 6 guys in their first year of AHL play and 5 guys in their second or third year. Of the 18 skaters, 13 are still considered prospects by our criteria. And there are other like Day who didn't play. They've played some really good games and they've played some bad games. It's to be expected. And while the defense hasn't been great--guys like Gilmour, Crawley and Day can't really play good defense at this level--the goaltending has been disappointing as well. But all in all from what I've watched, things look fine, guys look like they're making progress and everything.

Whoa, whoa, whoa.

Let’s not go and provide context here. Who the hell do you think you are, sir?

Lias has 9 pts in 11 games almost PPG at this point so that is promising indeed. Anyone seen him playing recently is he faster on his skates now?

Probably not the ahler is just a slower league. Nevertheless he needs to just continue to improve build confidence and get stronger physically. He’s gotta work on the skating in the summer which he says he has. He’ll need to do it again this summer and the Rangers should invest in a skating coach for him if they haven’t already.

Probably means Nieves is in the line-up

i haven't seen notice (yet) of Nieves activated and assigned to HWP

maybe Shawn St-Amant was just bumped by Beleskey
he hadnt brought the O that his preseason promise offered

Gropp, Ronning, St Amant had been rotating in the 11th, 12th F spot before Beleskey was assigned

Now Beleskey will likely be regular
and Gropp, Ronning, O'Donnell will be 11/12

IMHO when Beleskey in, no need to also dress ODonnell over kids while every F is healthy

LMAO at the first sentence, showing your bias once again. Lias is actually looking a step quicker, ask anyone watching Wolf Pack.

Your actual Points later i do agree with, skating coach would be great for him.

calling the AHL a slower league is news to you? or bias? nothing I said isn't accurate there he looks faster because the competition around him is a step slower.

Just box-score surfing, how has Gettinger looked? 6 points in 11 games seems pretty solid for a 20 year who projects as a bottom sixer, would be nice to develop our own 4th line players who don't get paid anything.

No he looks faster this year against AHL competition than he did last year against AHL competition.

well that's a good sign but I thought he looked faster YOY anyway. just not much faster. he's got a lot of work to do on it. not for nothing if he had chytil's legs he'd be an 80 plus point kid. I think that highly of his head and hands and chill around the net. chytil on the other hand like I've said looks like a virgin trying to unhook his first bra anytime he gets the puck in a scoring chance.

nevertheless he's off to a really good start. chytil should be there with him. it would be the best for both of them to stay there at least till the trade deadline. neither should be in the nhl right now.

Amazing K: I think we should tap the brakes on Fogarty. he is shooting at 33.3%. He only has generated 15 shots in 11 games. Perhaps his offense is improved but after two uninspiring years and a shooting percentage that cannot be sustained I would like to see more of a sample size before getting too excited at his early season performance.

I am going to the game this Sunday and will report back next week on my observations.

Fogarty leading the team in points is so sweet to see!

Fogarty is 25. He should be doing something at the AHL. Andersson's skating is fine. Of course he says he's going to work on it. What else would he say. He should be working on all parts of his game. Too much is put into skating. Kreider has elite speed but he's dumb and has never figured out how to use it consistently. Buchnevich is a dog so his skating is wasted. DeAngelo hasn't figure out how to use his speed to play defense at a solid level. He's been traded twice. Zucc is hardly a fast skater but nobody says anything because he's smart and knows how to use his skills.

Lord have mercy.

Skating is the most important tool that any hockey player can have. Andersson's skating is better than it was last year and okay for the NHL but it's the thing that if he can improve can make him a much more effective player. Kreider is not really a dumb hockey player anymore. He's figured out how to play without the puck--he's figured out when and how to screen goalies which has become a big part of his toolbox--it speaks to chemistry with his linemates. Gradually from season to season he's made improvements. DeAngelo's made improvements to his overall game. Zucc's not a great skater but he's pretty good or at least better than average.
