Yeah, but they got a point which ain't bad, gets is just a bit of extra distance on Sudbury and Oshawa. The next game vs the Spits is probably not going to have that silver lining.
are you hoping to make the playoffs or get a top drasft pick?

Make the playoffs. Even in the 8th seed, younger players getting a chance to play in the playoffs prepares them for it down the line which I would typically feel is more important, useful and prestigious for the organization, barring someone truly special coming down the pipe.

interesting. You feel getting 8 seed and losing 4-0 in round 1 is prestigious for the org? In the NHL id agree. In the OHL 80% make teh palyoffs and usually everyone who doesnt sell off at the deadline does. All teams are diffarent in that view though

I think being able to say that the organization has never missed the playoffs save it's first year, and while it has sold OA and declined after championship runs (which is normal and expected) it hasn't ever been a multi-year bottom dweller, is something a parent might consider if they have a choice of where their child plays in the OHL. That management/ownership clearly knows what it is doing, vs say Niagara right now or Flint during the ownership debacle may weight into that choice. You need only look at London to prove that point. It's clear they are professionally run and a perpetual contender and seldom a bottom dwelling team.

That said, I did say other reasons as well. Playoff experience doesn't hurt, and seeing what level you need to get to (particularly in a low seed) and a small amount of extra money a few more games isn't going to hurt the franchise for a slightly faster pick. The quality gap between OHL draftees to me doesn't strike me as so large that drafting sooner is substantially more important then being able to draft more or sell picks, save for maybe a few rare players that everyone learns about (like Misa for example).

If only Mo and Hayes could play 55 minutes a game. Donovan was also really good tonight.

4th line had about 5 shifts all game. Gonna be trouble when they are the 2nd/3rd line in a month.

Donovan has really picked up his game as of late.

As great of a skater as White is, he often tries to do too much. He offsets it with putting up points, but sometimes less is more.

I like seeing Rebello getting more icetime. Plays hard and brings a physical game.

I've tried to be diplomatic, but honestly Roberts hurts them pretty much every time that he's on the ice.

Morrison is just so good everywhere on the ice. What a shame he isn't a great skater or he would be a very good NHL player.

Yep, but this is precisely why the Bulldogs should sell. It's not just a matter that they are the only ones scoring (apart from Xhekaj) and that the other lines aren't, but also that this will force us to give ice time to the younger players. Particularly I'd like to see Vanacker get some more time.

Glad to see I was proven wrong vs the Spits, too bad vs the Fronts brought us back down to earth.

It will be interesting to see who they can move and what they can get back. Most valuable pieces are OAs, an import, and a guy that is always injured.

What would you expect in return for Winterton? Possibility his injury status/history taken into account?

Or at least conditionals to get a deal done?

I would be surprised if they dealt Winterton this year. He definitely has 30 goal talent at least so it wouldn't be cheap.

I would think that they want him here next year and maybe deal him then.

As a third rounder to Seattle, do you want to gamble they send him back for an OA season as opposed to the AHL?

just make the trade conditional on oa return

I would be comfortable making that gamble. I would think that there is a strong possibility that they let him come back.
He’s a signed NHLer. He has pro hockey size. I cannot see them sending him back to Junior to play with kids. He would dominate for a year and stunt his growth/development.

He only played half of the season last year and hasn't played a game this year. I'm not sure they would see it that way. He also has had a serious shoulder injury 2 years in a row. Playing with men wouldn't help that.

Gavin White is a 4th round pick and is currently playing an OA year. I don't think it's crazy to think that Winterton could be sent back.

It doesn't matter what I think though. I'm sure the team has a better idea of what might happen.

White is not a signed player. He has no contract.

Maybe not but signed NHL prospects playing OA seasons Vs unsigned NHL prospects playing OA seasons is probably around 20-1?

I believe there are extenuating circumstances do to his injuries (which happened in NHL camp both times).

Like I said before, it doesn't matter what I think. The team will have a better idea and make a decision accordingly.

i cant remember the last signed nhl prospect that was a highish nhl pick that played as an overage. nhl teams want the kid in the system if they can, they want control, even if its the echl
