Yup no surprise there. I think sens fans are hanging on Stutzle's 90 points seasons. Both Suzuki and him are tracking for what? 83-84 points. Suzuki isn't all that far off from Stutz 90 points. But his defensive play is sounder. He might not be a diving gold medalist though

Habs are playing themselves out of a high end pick. Not really a good thing long term in some ways. I did not care for the reinbacher pick at all but they clearly have a better prospect pool and I would suggest more upside due to age of young players (unless some of these guys on the sens are late bloomers).

Sens aren’t in a good place imo. It will be surprising to see them contend with this core. I could see them making the post season before the habs. Does that mean they have a better future? I think not. I feel like both teams need someone to put them over the top. An elite talent. Demidov could be that guy for the Habs. Not sure who for the sens.

Voted habs, it’s closer than a lot of people think though, judging from the posts.

What metric are you using to say his defense is better - just curious, not being combative.

I think both Tkachuk and Stutzle are better players than Suzuki. Stutzle’s 90 point season is more than any Hab player has put up in over 15 years. And yes Batherson is better than Caufield.

Habs is still the better team.

I think Michael Hage is an interesting factor. Covid, injuries and playing in the USHL made him a wishy washy 1st rounder. His play in the ncaa is pretty eye opening however . A revisit to that draft in 5 years will be interesting

Suzuki is a fine 1C, he's not elite but he's top 20 maybe top 15 and still young. There's an off chance that Demidov switch to center but I won't bet on that, Michael Hage is also looking like a great pick so far with top 6 upside.

As for Dach, he struggled a ton in the first 30 games after missing an entire year but since the team started winning he's been fine, really.

Different issue and nothing to do with perceived “regression” of said player. To date, his injuries have been completely unrelated to each other so he could easily never get injured seriously again.

I think I perceived his regression because of his 30 point pace.

My mistake. Vlad Tarasenko hasn't been a shitty signing for us in Detroit either. If his last two games are any indicator he's a 164 point player!

I have no fealty to either club, and to the extent I'd like to see one of them in the playoffs, I'd actually prefer if it were Montreal (for historic / nostalgic reasons only).

But I'd have a hard time not picking Ottawa in this poll. Where Montreal probably has an edge is in reinforcements, with plenty of picks / prospects that can make an impact to their roster down the road. I don't follow their prospects closely, though, which is probably why I slightly prefer the Senators.

I'd love to see a playoff series between these two.
