You're not wrong in being cautious.
Early season streaks are great as far as being able to deposit alot of points in the bank and giving yourself room for error as the season moves along.
But I don't really look at the early streaks as much of an indicator as to how far they will go in the playoffs. It's a long season, and things will not stay rosy for the entire ride.

Jersey was terrible team for 10 years. They've had a lot of high picks. They should be this good. It's easy that way
More so the fans down to earth.
I read an article that Anderson should be traded as his North-South game doesn't fit MSLs system. Tonight, Anderson was one of our better guys. Probably good to have some diversity. I had also read somewhere that Slaf was asked to play a more North-South style a few games in.
I had been expecting games like this most of the time this year due to having 4 rookie D men. So I am still impressed.
Interesting that Wifi had the most TOI of all the D tonight. MSL will have a tough call when Matheson is ready.

Really impressed by the Devils. Hard working team, they know where when and how to put pressure and created at least 20 turnovers ( well, we may have given them a few freebies)
Star of the night was Marino on D.
I did not remember him being such a stud?
On a side note, and it wouldn't have changed last night's result, but ou pk is really bad, don't let the current numbers fool you, they have been results of D sacrifices blocking shots and good goaltending. The forwards look completely lost and the weak clearing attempts that end up as passes to the opposing D at the blue line will eventually kill us.
I don't know if it's a new system that tries to clear the zone and send the puck mid central zone to prevent opponents to change up or if it's just crappy attempts, but it's not working.

The Devils are fast, and big..................this is what the team should look like, and HuGo are on their way there.....
I thought last night, we looked slow at times, and we probably were in comparison to the Devils, they just kept on coming at the habs.
We played 20 minutes, and they played the full 60 and right now are a real good team.

I’m convinced. With the speed they can throw at you. They humbled us and the Canadiens are a comparatively fast team. If they get goaltending and pick up some scoring depth at the TDL, this team is a genuine contender. Speed will do that for you. I’m sure Hughes took close notice of that last night.
Yeah and people talking playoffs take note. In season teams play " their" game regardless if who they are playing. In the playoffs a team prepares fir its opponent. So any team we would be playing should forecheck hard and keep pressure on the young guys, like last night.

How do you think the Oilers feel having traded him to the Penguins for a 6th round pick.
I didn’t catch after the 4th goal but I felt there speed created a lot of defensive turnovers. But for some reason the passses weren’t leaving the Canadiens sticks right all night long.
It honestly just felt like the team was out of sync and had a bad night. Not going to read too much into it and will see what they look like next time they face the devils.

One should never read too much into any two periods. But once the Devils amped up their game we couldn’t match their speed. There’s still too many non skaters on our team. And they were exposed last night. And I’m fairly certain Hughes noticed.

Watching MTL last night it's clear they have some really nice pieces to build around. Take it from us devil's fans, rebuilds can take a while but I see the potential in MTL. They may not have played their best last night but I wouldn't discredit NJs win, they've been outshooting and out chancing everyone they play.
They traded him to have space to get Petry. And traded Matheson to us in exchange for Petry. They just wanted an over 30 year old team or something...
Saw what might have been the play that he got injured on against the knights ,looks like he fell on his left shoulder, to me if that is actually the play that caused his injury this guy's made of papier mache,what a pathetic fragile player.Next stop,TVA with the two clowns Latendresse and Lapiere.
NJ is the most impressive team we’ve played this year IMO. Vegas being a close second.
