Slafkovsky is looking like poop as well. I know it was a weak as hell draft that year, but I am expecting more from this guy even at his age. Can't hold onto his stick,, looks and plays like a low iq individual and wouldn't hit the broad side of a barn. The habs drafting is pure garbage but it would really set this team back if Slafkovsky turns out to be Bustkovsky
Some comments should stay unwritten sometimes.

Calling a kid ‘’low IQ’’ and a supposed bust because of 11 games at the start of a season where he has 8 points.

I wonder if Newhook will have more games like tonight or did he reach his quota of good games. In fairness he was dynamite tonight. Habs tend to have random players wake up at random periods of time but never as a whole team.

What's trash is this post. Jesus Christ give it time.
People has no patience.

Some say they are patient or that they understand the situation the habs are in but then act like drama queens. Nothing will change the fact that Demidov isn’t here yet, Hage neither and Slaf/Hutson are only 20, you can’t skip those years and go faster.

Put the game on while taking care of the catch of the day and what a surprise, Montreal gave them a game. A very good effort for a change and it showed what they are capable of, just need to bring that every game and learn to play better defense. A lot of the players looked good, some very good, what were they waiting for.

I love how our late 1st round pick from last year has suddenly turned into a core piece

Gallagher looks like the Gally of old. I thought he'd be the broken animatronics figure forever, so it's a nice surprise.

Time to give him his due:

these losses are getting tough. team is tough to watch. the season looks like it's almost over, and it's almost time to cheer for a bottom 3 pick.

only from a handful, most argue that he’s legit stud who just plays a little too many minutes. My issue with him is constant bumbles and mistakes which outweigh his sexy silky smooth skating imo.
I wonder how much better Matheson might be if his minutes were more closely managed. He’s too erratic and mistake-prone at his current workload.

They were able to produce last year...why are they all choking?
We’re still in the middle of a rebuild but ideally, you’d like to see signs of progress over last season. I’m not sure what factors are the most prevalent — maybe the loss of Monahan plus Marty losing part of the room?

Someone mentioned in the GDT how the Habs have always had trouble landing first line centers. Ideally, you’d want a first line strong enough to push Suzuki, Caufield and Slaf to the 2nd line. How realistic would that be?

Devils are clearly superior, and given that not that bad a night tbh. We can easily cite games this year that were way worse. We had our top line be silent but still scored 3 goals and were competitive in the game. In hindsight a pretty much perfect tank game.

We have the same record as San Jose. Wow.

All 3 on a second line? Totally unrealistic.
