Drouin @ 50% retention and Chiarot @ 50% retention.

What does something like that look like for the Canucks?

What storm?

The season has only started. Give it a dozen more games before the doom and gloom posts.

Calm down. It's too early to start surging around like some southern team, lol

Like Florida? Atlanta no longer has a franchise. Like them?

we have to get around 96 pts to get into playoffs

43-22-4 in the remaining schedule

we don't have the team for that...
this^
perfect time for a 2-3 yr rebuild . bergevin is not gonna be around for it so give someone else the chair . i have nightmares of him resigning chariot this year and drouin next year . we had our run at it last year . give price the option to go to a contender. deal weber back to nashville . any players not interested in hanging around for the rebuild we can move .

A huge top 4 D and a younger top 6 winger with almost $5m in retention? More than you’d want to send back

only player that really interests me is Anderson and he is listed as not available

Would love to add Price @ 50% retained but have no idea what the cost would be... Maybe a young top 6 F (Yamamoto?) + 1st?

I can’t see any scenario where Montreal retains 50% on Price.

If he trades anyone it'll be very minor. Doubt he's the GM anywhere but on paper. He's only there because Molson is cheap and wants to finish his contract.

Drouin has 2 years left, so it would be about 7.25 million retained overall.

I though Drouin was still a player Montreal fans were looking to dump, not that that would be a negative value situation by any stretch at half retained though.

Remember when he sold off the team for draft picks, all those draft picks. What did they amount to? Montreal is still terrible at developing players, and I don't know why, if it's just an old boys club, or poor coaching, or poor management.

I don't know, I think Price deserves to win a Stanley Cup in his lifetime, so I hope he gets traded. Looks like a big mess right now in Montreal, talent just isn't there. Bergevin has made some good trades, and some bad ones. I'm not sure I'd give him any more chances to "improve" this team.

Petry for Kerfoot, Holl and 2022 1st.

Kerfoot and Holl are of no use to the Habs, but I guess they could flip the former for a 3rd round pick. So that leaves us with a late 1st, 3rd and Holl for Petry.

I guess it's not terrible if there's no market for Petry, but we would likely want something more tangible in return.

Anyways, it's doubtful we are ever going to be in a position to trade Petry. It would turn our already bad defence into AHL quality.

Robertson, (Kerfoot & Holl) - Flip for Picks, and Picks
for
Josh Anderson

Not bad, depending on how our scouting sees Robertson. The question is how he fits into our future lineup. We have Caufield as a shoot-first winger for Suzuki and Dvorak needs more of a playmaking winger.

It's kinda funny looking back on those Dvorak trade threads right now. Some doozies in there. I don't see Dvorak on that list of untouchables.

He might still be a part of the future core, but until he establishes himself as such, it would be silly to deem him "untouchable".

Anderson with some retention for Holloway +

+ quality depends upon retention.

Done. Let's make it no retention from MTL and no added quality from the oilers.

Drouin @ 50% retention and Chiarot @ 50% retention.

What does something like that look like for the Canucks?

The Habs need RD and C prospects and a LW who can complement Suzuki - Caufield or play with Dvorak. Other than that, we need draft picks.

He's available. Make your offer.
If he can play the left side I would open the prospect cupboard so to speak
Anderson no retention for 1st+Robertson+Holl+Ritche as a starter offer

RD for us looks deep enough towards the bottom, Myers, Poolman, Hamonic, Schenn, Burroughs, Bowey, Keeper and Woo. Woo is pretty much the only one I'd call a "prospect" though.

C prospects are restricted to Carson Focht. He's all yours.

LW is a equally thin for prospects, going from Plasek to...well Plasek. Klimovich and Lockwood play right, other then that, the Canucks prospects are all graduated in the form of Hoglander and Podkolzin, both righties and relatively comparable to Suzuki and Caulfield as players we'd probably want to keep. We could be convinced as a fan base to give up Pearson however, who is Toffoli's BFF and can, apparently, play in a top six capacity.

We're reasonably well set for picks, missing this year's second.

so the real question is who do we have as suitable gm candidates ? and while we're at that who are potential director of scouting candidates ?

p.s. bergevin is probably headed to chicago so he shouldn't be allowed to make any deals really . molson are you listening? time to move on

So "rebuild the Canadiens without trading anyone of value?" The only players of value are Suzuki, Caufield, Anderson, Guhle.

Honestly, I don't know. He was tried there and did ok, but the sample size was small. There is an opinion among the Habs fans that he would in fact be better playing LW permanently, because an off-wing net drive is his best move. I can't be the judge of that. He has trouble receiving the puck on his backhand.

Anderson no retention for 1st+Robertson+Holl+Ritche as a starter offer

Holl and Ritchie are signed for one more season, so that's not terrible. They are also likely movable with some retention, especially Holl.

I think that's a solid offer.

sure, let's waste 2 of our 3 retain spots for some mid picks.

anyway, if Anderson is moved, it's outside of our division
