Lolol at people looking for a quick solution. We're a bottom 10 team with major injuries that played against a Stanley cup contender on a back to back. There is no solution except drafting, smart trades and slowly keep plugging holes.

People wanna fire Burrows because magically our pp will be top 10 lolol. We don't have the tools for a good pp no matter who's coaching it.
I think the biggest issue with respect to our powerplay is we don't try anything different. We keep doing the same thing and we continue to fail.

The so called expert on HF keep saying Toffoli will be in the decline. Yet this guy keep progressing every season. 73pts last season and on his way for another 70pts season.

Yeah, but you know in Montreal he would be a 40 pt player, because we are in a perpetual suckage to hell since around 94. Good players don't thrive here, the system never changes, dump, chase.. try and get the puck back with small players. Throw back to the point where it's bumbled and shot wide. It's as if the owners dictate the system, because it NEVER changes no matter who coaches this dump of a franchise. Add in the fact they can't draft the right player to save their life with a top pick and voila..

Small , soft teams suck, nothing changes here when you play 3/4 of a game in your own end getting hammered. Oh and pulling your goalie with 9 mins left on the PP? That's mickey mouse, Jr B BS, it had a 99% chance of failing and they looked for a drop pass the entire way lol. Whatevs, the fans will continue to pay for this nonsense. Total Suckers

He can produce with high end talent around him but don't expect him to generate offense by him self. The NJD's Hischier and Hughes produced a lot of points and Bratt also notched 73.

Suzuki needs a long look in the mirror if he’s hurt. You’re putting yourself ahead of the team because of a stupid streak. You’re not passing Jarvis.

If you’re not hurt, then Jesus Christ man.

Nick is about the only guy on this roster that hasn't been injured enough to sit out yet. We all know that everyone on this roster will get bit eventually. Nick should just accept it!

44pts in 52 games with the habs in his first season. That around 60pts in 82 games right? He would have still produce around 60 pts with the habs.

So at what point is this team supposed to start showing improvement? I mean MSL has been doing his wizardry for 2 years now. Hughes for longer than that. Same for Gorton. I get it that they aren't going to contend for anything yet, but how about some improvement. In any area will do. The team is trash.

Where the F is Suzuki and Caufield these days?

f***ing maddening.

Yeah, I mean who needs guys like Toffoli and Lekhs. We need more picks who will never make it anywhere. But not to worry... the bright future is right ahead... only 20+ years and we'll be right there... in da playoffs.

Not a bad game against a very good team. Loved seeing Barron play this way...good for him! Devils are a tough team to play against even more so on a back to back. Primeau good too.
So hard to see very good teams vs ... this team. Jealous of them... they have good coaches and GMs. Must be nice.

Slaf needs to be sent down.
He was not the worst player tonight but the kid needs to score goals at this stage of his career imo.
He still only scored 4 goals in more than 1.5 year.
He played 45 games in total and is 19 lmao. You're being disingenuous with your 1.5 years.

Devils missed the playoffs 9 out the last 10 years before last season. Are you ready for that kind of sucking?? Based on the comments in this thread some can't even stomach a couple of losses lol

Oh we'll miss 10 years and 10 more after that. Not to worry.

Never should have kept him up last year.
Not too late to send him down.

Hughes was hired in January 2022.

MSL was hired in February 2022.

Not yet 2 years for either.

Being impatient & having unrealistic expectations is a good way to always be mad.

There's ample evidence of progress on and off the ice, it's a shame you can't see it or enjoy it... I feel for you, must be very frustrating.

The Devils are more than just a tough team, they are a legitimate Cup contender. We had no answer for their speed and skill. I don't think anyone is going to want to meet the Devils in the playoffs.

I thought Matheson played a tremendous third period and tried to carry the team on his back in a valiant effort to get them back into the game. I also liked Xhekaj's game. He was punishing Devils players in the defensive zone and made a number of excellent, creative plays in the offensive zone. This kid is going to be a real force going forward. I wouldn't be too critical of this team. Already very thin in talent, they were without three top players and were playing the second of back to back games against a well rested, talented team. The outcome was predictable.

Caufield is a point per game. He’s been invisible the past two matches but he’s been our best forward this year by far.

What is funny is that you close your eyes on how most of those teams became good, they did a rebuild. Yet you don’t have the patience for the habs to do one.

We should’ve kept Tofoli? We should’ve… what? Gone for it? Traded away picks for vets? Is this for real?

Come on man. You wanted a rebuild and now you’ve got one. Suck it up because we’re gonna be bad for a while.
