Help! I can't change pages! No matter where I click I get a pop-up ad that can't be closed. Is there a solution?

My my we are talking about Matheson not Prime Markov.

Matheson always been a complete mess defensively. Yeah yeah he skates fast and some times makes a good offensive play.

He ain't that special. He shouldn't be playing on the first pair to begin with.

He's the same Matheson in Florida and why Pittsburgh traded him.
In defense of Matheson, one thing he does better than our other defenders is keep the puck in at the blue line. He regularly anticipates the clearing lane and intercepts to keep it in, instead of bungling it or being someplace else entirely. That in itself if an important contribution to our powerplay .When other defenders let the puck out, the team has to come back, regroup, skate forward, drop a pass back, skate across the blue line frequently losing it right away, and then fight to regain possession. Every Matheson blue line save gives us 25 extra seconds of offense.

This is great! If I'm stuck on page 11, at least it's good for laughs!

suzuki will never be a ppg player, hes in the wrong chair and has the C on his jersey to give him even more pressure. we are already lucky he has made 70 pts, becauase he looked like shit in junior, therefore vegas didnt hesitate to trade him
I think players are sick and tired of injuries happening around them and making the team weaker and weaker at each of them. Matheson yesterday was running all over the place. No Savard or Guhle to help him for a while. Same with Suzuki who was p0ssibly pretty pleased to see Dach share a part of the load.

Never should have gotten the C- 3 assists isn't enuff not even for him
Caufield had double and that's pretty well with out Suzuki who's missing in action

Clearly, you're missing a few key words here in what the pundit said, something something about pushing the team to perform, hence not all bottom teams will be pushed like that to perform, but pointing that out will be pointless, so adios.
:biglaugh: pointless indeed!

The sad part about this, is I don't think we even get to draft that high. more like 8-12.
We'll see. I find we had a good season start but we'll lose a lot of games from december to march. #5 spot is still realistic. If Moneyhand is injured again, we'll lose and lose and lose.

Allen's been rewarded enough. He's thanked us enough too with his stealing of points. It's an abusive relationship.
Who have the whip and the handcuffs in this relation? :D

Your just picking stats to make him look better than he is,

How about we look at the real numbers?

149 GP total

60 goal scored

that is not a 50 goal per season player

You fail to sound smart when everyone here is aware he scored the great majority of his 60 goals in his last 90 games.

51 in his last 89 games, to be precise, 9 goals in his first 60. Cut-off point being exactly the first game coached by MSL. That's not cherry-picking, but an obvious turning point with a clear cut-off of before and after. MSL coached in 89 games and Caufield scored 51 goals in those games.

Lastly, why not post with your regular account, :clittle:?

Not sure why you are putting Edmundson in there. He was always injured. Played 58% of the games for us in the last 3 seasons. Hasn't played at all for the Caps yet.

For the others, I liked them all. But Bergevin made sure that Danault and KK were going to unhappy here given how he talked about them.

Chiarot brought us Newhook who may end up being worth it. The return on Toffoli was underwhelming even at the time. If Heineman doesn't pan out, oof. We gave up Lehkonen hoping for a legit RD. I think there was also a perception that Evans could step into Lehk's role. (Wrong.) But if Barron turns into a legit RD, it'd be an OK trade. If not, we gave up two good players for nothing. But Toffoli and Lehk would not make this team contenders.
I don't really want all of them back but I find some of the players we traded are quite good or they give constant effort. They don't make white hair grow to their coaches, lol. The return of these players traded are 50/50. Newhook is quite interresting so far. I like his speed and hockey sense.

Danault and KK gone is brutal. Since there is no Danault our defensive play is just brutal. With patience, KK was going to mature. Far from being as good as Tkachuk but let's forget to compare them.

Anyway, this discussion is pointless, they are gone and let's look at what we have. And try not to repeat the same mistakes. We have good players in our system.

Agree, the loss of Danault was brutal and the loss of KK too. He's young and getting better and Dvorak is not. I think Hughes is trying to get a reputation of respecting players and treating them right, which Bergevin often didn't (Markov, Radulov, KK, Danault etc). That cost us players who ended up wanting to leave because of how he negotiated with them, and also cost us because it was hard to get free agents to come.

With all the injuries, I say put Anderson on as a D. Poor hockey sense but can skate and hit, he would be the ideal replacement as a right shooting D. All he would have to think is throw the other players away from the goalie and take the puck out of the zone.
Why not.

Hischier is in line with Suzuki. They have similar upside and are solid players. But Hischier wasn’t enough for the team to take a step forward.

Why is NJ taking a step forward?

Jack Hughes

Habs don’t have a player with a ceiling as high as Jack Hughes and that is the most important problem Kent Hughes needs to solve.

Markov wasn’t great defensively either.

Matheson can move the puck and he’s got wheels. That’s good enough for now. As the new guys come in, he’s going to become expendable. Puck moving blueliners alsways have value.

Blueliners like Markov have real value because they can transition out from D to O. They’re not great at clearing the crease or defensive play but they transition it out. Matheson isn’t in that league but he’s not bad either.

Either the last two games have been an anomaly or he really is that bad. There was one single shift last game where he made 3 absolutely egregious D-zone giveaways that somehow didn't end up in the net. The game before against Washington, he was the one who tried the extra move after getting by Ovi, losing the puck, and then scooping it out of the net after Strome put it in the open net.

The real downside of Savard getting hurt is not that we're going to miss his minutes, it's that Matheson is our only veteran presence back there now, is going to get more minutes, and has been absolutely putrid in our end.
