A positive note:

Heineman - Evans - Armia is rocking right now. They're our second line at the moment. Heineman looks like a player/Joel's turning into beast-mode Joel for his 5-10 games a season.

Evans, I don't know if it's the contract year effect or what but he looks great. Playing himself out of my price range for him.

Jake is litterally playing to the level I saw just prior to Scheifele trying to decapitate him. It's taken this long just fir him to get back to that level.

He has million dollar legs and a 10 cent head. Nathan Beaulieu was the same way. Petry (ironically enough, the guy we traded for him) could be that way as well when he was playing too much.

He makes the wrong play 9/10 times. Whatever the simple play is, he does the opposite. Sometimes this can be good and leads to offense (happened a lot last
year). This year, it more likely than not ends up in our net.

I had to laugh. TY. 9 outta 10 wrong plays last year but it lead to offense alot.

Dumb pre game sh*t talk by Laine
I don;t care so much about what he said... but, he should know by now that he is made of glass and making himself a target like that, it is just f***ing stupid. Not to mention the irony, seeing how he is playing for the Habs... not exactly the team that won or is winning anything in the recent while. Sigh.

Too, many veteran plugs on the Habs.
Or your top lines not scoring... It could be that. The plugs scored 3 of 4 goals - Savard, Evans, Armia. Suzuki, Caufield, Slafkovsky, Newhook, Dach, Laine.... nothing.

Newhook, Dach, and Slaf have been disappointment. Armia has more points than Daug and Newhook combined.

At least many of the vets are working thier tails off, can’t say that about some of the young guys.

A perfect example how still bad this team is. Anyone who plays them remotely tough and tight, Habs will lose... even if it's Columbus.

Dach has to be the most useless player that ever wore the Habs uniform... Not scoring on that chance in the middle of the third is absolutely undescribable. Newhook, as always did absolute sweet f*** all.

First line was ok until Suzuki had to start to double-shift for Laine.

But anyway... regardless who what where... this team can't play tough tight checking hockey... They may look like they will keep it close, but they will not win.

Well... welcome to the xmas trip and buckle up... it won't be pretty.

So f***ing pissed.

it's ok Reinbacher will save us?

frustrating yet entertaining game. Nice to see some offense but they have to shut that down at 4-3 or even 4-4. not having Laine made us a 1-line team again - but Evans' line continues to punch above their weight.

Dikembe looked bad, and it has a lot to do with not having a backup imo. That has to be dealt with after xmas.
ho ho ho
The funny thing is we didn't wake up until Laine was done.

Not Matheson's fault he’s being put into a shit situation with all of these minutes. He’s a good 2nd pairing D man but poor management with zero ability to find a minutes eater is to blame as well. He could make better decisions but he shouldn’t be up against top players. He’s not paid that way and wasn’t brought in to play so many minutes. It’s unfair to the team and Matheson

He’s got all these physical gifts, but the puck on his stick is like a grenade and it’s always at risk of blowing up.

1-he consistently mishandles pass receptions on the point.
2-he consistently messes up break outs. Skates gingerly out when a guy is right in back of him. Soft clearing attempts. Throws the puck up the board when it’s obvious that there’s only an opponent there. Overpasses by a mile.
3-Always covers the wrong guy or seemingly doesn’t cover anyone.
4-i could go on and on.

I don’t want him traded but it hurts my head sometimes.

Oh, I definitely want him traded. I doubt anyone would give a bag of pucks for him right now, though. He should've been traded last offseason just like Anderson should have been traded at the 2022 draft. I think Hughes loves some of his Quartexx players too much.

not a chance.

Considering his usage, 100%.

So Laine got FAFO'd, hopefully recovers soon and learns something.

The problem is we never respond when teams go after our best guys. We should be going after their best guys. It's the only deterrent. People will continue to mess with us until we start messing with them. We have to build a team people won't FA with.

It's said cause rarely the whole team seems to be working at the same time. Last season was the opposite... vets were trash and younger guys were pulling the cart. Almost looks like there are 2 groups inside the dressing room that are not well connected.

As much as we are praising Evans Heineman continues to impress with his game and is a big part of that line's production.
I think his IQ is a tad bit higher than he was given credit for. Just the one over pursuit that he messed up on the Harris goal.
I'm not sure if that is bad instinct or we are instructed to suck back so far.
Biggest knock on Heineman was his inability to stay healthy, was a bit of a brittle player. Otherwise, checks a lot of boxes.
