Oh, I definitely want him traded. I doubt anyone would give a bag of pucks for him right now, though. He should've been traded last offseason just like Anderson should have been traded at the 2022 draft. I think Hughes loves some of his Quartexx players too much.

Considering his usage, 100%.

The problem is we never respond when teams go after our best guys. We should be going after their best guys. It's the only deterrent. People will continue to mess with us until we start messing with them. We have to build a team people won't FA with.
If he didn't say anything, you wouldn't think anything of the hits he received. They were nothing plays. Looks like he just can't handle physical play. Which is too bad.

Newhook, Dach, and Slaf have been disappointment. Armia has more points than Daug and Newhook combined.

At least many of the vets are working thier tails off, can’t say that about some of the young guys.
Newhook. Dach and Slaf have time. The veterans can work their tales off . It accomplishes nothing because they can't make a play or finish.

It's not the first time the team has played like that against him and he didn't mind. Rather, I think it also had to do with the reaction of our players to his words. Not that he wasn't right, there have been problems with that in the past, Waddell said it too. But he said it stupidly.

Well, if you look at the stats the vets who are working their tails off are producing/finishing a heck of a lot more than trash Daug and Newhook. Maybe if two carried the weight the habs record would be better.

David Savard has a better stat line than the two young duds Hugo acquired, lol, Savard!

Roster is garbage, young and old other than a few guys.

I don't think those hits happen if he says something like "It's nothing against the Blues jackets. I had great teammates and the fans supported me. I just needed a change and now I'm happy I'm here". They looked like a team who wanted to hurt him and they did. Werenski's post game comments clearly show they had animosity. At this point in his career, Laine should know the code.

It was a really dumb move on his part.

Yeah, the kid 3+ years younger and double+ the points of either the other two needs to brought up as well.

Huh? He's a 20 y.o. big man still pacing for 50 pts on a bad team. What were your expectations exactly? Joe Thornton scored 41 pts as a 20 year old, before many many seasons in the 80s, 90s and 100s when he entered his prime. Chill! :scool:

expectations, to see back half of last year Slaf more nights than we what have. Needs to use his size a lot more.

If anyone was watching the Jordan Harris goal there were 7 Columbus Blue Jackets on the ice. It would have been too many men on the ice. They were on a change and when Harris shot the puck there were 7 on the ice.

It was clear Laine's stupid pre-game comments made him a target on ice - rightfully so. And I think he is not in the state to physically handle that (yet at least).

I truly hope the decision to remove him from the game was precaution (as funny as it sounds) and not reaction to an injury.

Just once I'd like a team that is capable of bullying the other team rather than having one of our players be bullied due to "the code."

I want our players to be able to say whatever the f*** they want without reprisal. Remember when Kucherov made fun of us and all we could do about it was whine because our team is always a bunch of wussy wuss-faces?

Another 5 spot against.

Laine out with UBI.

At least Hutson scored one.

Merry Christmas!
Evans line I thought was our best line. They need to move up to second line minutes. As long as they are hot anyway.

Laine needs to learn keep his mouth shut. That's Bush league stuff to do. Doesn't sound like he is that bright. His mouth costs us two points.

Matheson never had a good game. Montembeault playing too much, his third game in four nights.

Not Matheson's fault he’s being put into a shit situation with all of these minutes. He’s a good 2nd pairing D man but poor management with zero ability to find a minutes eater is to blame as well. He could make better decisions but he shouldn’t be up against top players. He’s not paid that way and wasn’t brought in to play so many minutes. It’s unfair to the team and Matheson
Matheson is a good D that is being used incorrectly. He is being overused and put into situations that expose his game. Not his fault.
