Nope. I prefer the Habs to get as low as possible, which ensures a great pick no matter the lottery.

And for those thinking we can't catch up to the super tankers, we've already cut that lead by almost 1/3 in the last 3-4 weeks. Give it another month and we might be right there in the tank of things.
We will be.

Shame for Guhle though. Knee injuries can alter careers.

This team is not prepared to play hockey at all. We get it they are bad , but nobody is even trying. Coaching staff need to do something about it. If you think the product on the ice has been awful , the product behind the bench aint better

MSL, you are not a god.

Why don’t you pull the trigger and find out.

Some folks question everything from IQ to not generating offense while playing with slugs.
No wonder this organization can't have nice things....the fan base goes out of its way to destroy young players.
It's a huge fanbase with many differing opinions so questioning pretty much everything is to be expected around here. I don't have an issue with people questioning different aspects of Slaf's or any other players game or how they think the Habs should or shouldn't handle Slaf's development. It's a hockey forum and that's what we do here.

I also don't see the fanbase having much of an effect on destroying these young players due to being critical of their play or other aspects of their games. That's far more on the Habs organization and their lack of proper drafting and development over the past few years. Although it does seem to be getting better these days compared to MB's early tenure in that department.

He needs to let that D mature and build around Slafkovsky, Suzuki, Dach and Caufield.
Another big draft this summer + maybe a PLD and a goalie and we're a playoff team = 2 more years at least
One does not build a cup-contender around a third-liner, two second liners, and a one-dimensional goal-scorer.

Watch any good team on the PK and watch our's.
They go aggressively after the puck and is always in movement. We stand there like potatoes barely moving.
Same thing goes for the PP.

It's like world class vs pee-wee. Who ever is in charge of our special teams really needs to get the boot. From strategies to personal employed, that is a fire-able offense.
Honestly, just eliminating the drop-pass attempted zone entry on the power play and adopting less passive approaches on the penalty kill, encouraging aggressive pressuring of puck carriers, after literally years of failure using these strategies seems so obvious.

I don't really understand all the doom and gloom in these post-game threads about the overall direction of the team. Our forward group is full of useless veteran slugs, with Drouin and Dadonov gone at the end of the year, Hoffman likely bought out, and Anderson + potentially Dvorak both gone via trade as well. Those guys are all basically obligated to get middle six minutes and they're horrible, but they're not going to here for much longer, the turnover on this roster has been dramatic and it's still going to change a ton going into next season.

It's just something I've seen a lot and it doesn't make sense to me. Most of our forward group are scrub veteran placeholders who mean nothing in the long term and won't be around past the end of next season, it's silly to act like it's going to be some Herculean task to replace Dadonov, Drouin, and Hoffman with cheaper and/or better players. Good middle six wingers are basically bulk commodities, it is not going to be remotely difficult to find better players than those three for the combined 15M they're being paid.

I think the real problem lately is the lack of effort that fans don't like more than anything... They seemed to try hard in most of the games since the start of the season even in defeats, now they look like they're playing under Ducharme again.

For sure, but ultimately when I watch these games the players that matter to us in the future are playing hard and the ones that don't matter aren't.

This is a bad team, but the coaches are just as pathetic and apparently have little hockey IQ at all. Total idiots , even cole is invisible and looks uninterested. Good job coaches and management , nobody cares , you are united at last.

Actually, after a bit of a lull where he appeared to evidence indicia of being overwhelmed by the speed of the game at the NHL level, I thought that Slafkovsky played one of his better games against the Panthers.

For whatever reason, for almost a decade now, we have been unable to solve the mystery of making a good change during the second period. We often get caught and take unnecessary penalties. It is frustrating to watch this ineptitude.

OTT won, ARI won, PHI SJS goes to OT. Of course MTL cannot win with this core, they are missing a 1 C and a 1D, the key pieces to win a SC. Fans should be happy the Habs are losing right now. I wish the team would play better and lose 5-4 every gane and the vets would increase their trade value… but you can t have everything.

Long ways to go if we are to tank to Chicago , Vancouver levels but now that I’ve seen Marty coach for a while I think we can finish bottom 3.

Why the Habs PP is always horrible ? Will they fix that eventually ? the team is 31st overall on the PP since the 2012-13 season (32nd is the Kraken so that doesnt count). It's always bad ffs
We replaced Markov with Alzner and its been downhill since
