Is Montreal's defense as bad as that looks?

It seems like some people are always optimistic. No matter how badly we get killed in the playoffs, there always seems to be reason to post a zillion fancy stats showing how awesome we are. Not sure whether I should envy these people or laugh at them though I usually do opt for the latter.![]()

I'd say with Weber gone and Edmundston out we are massively better on the back end.Habs' 3rd. line looks and should be much better than the Leafs'. (Tonne of Leafs fans wanted Dvorak, and I bet some would have overpaid for him.)
Heck, I might give the Habs 4th. line the nod over the Leafs 3rd.
Doesn't look like a huge advantage for the Leafs except maybe in net.

It looks like a team with good wingers weak down the middle with a terrible defense and below average goaltending. But that is just me.On paper MTL looks like an OK team.
How Allen handles being the clear #1 for at least the next month and possibly much longer will go a long way to determining their fate.It looks like a team with good wingers weak down the middle with a terrible defense and below average goaltending. But that is just me.
