I just hope he can stay healthy. We have a better "back up" this season but... We just need some health in our goaltending.

Yeah Semyonov is definitely next in line.

I'd like to see Robertson because I think he can probably play with a lot of fire and he's got skill... but Semyonov probably deserves the shot and he needs to play in the NHL.

Can he even be called up with our cap issues? No one is on LTIR other than Mikheyev. Thought we had to suck it up in these situations where a bunch of guys are day to day?

I think he can if Matthews goes on the IR retroactively... but Im not 100% sure. I'd be shocked if they couldn't make it work.

With Mikky on the LTIR we now have room for a full 23 man roster. We didn't even have to send Semyonov down.

Seems very unlikely he's not playing.

I haven’t been at all worried about whether Marner would play tonight. Seemed pretty clear in my mind that he was simply pulled by the concussion spotter

The regular season is always the best time to be a Leafs fan based on team historical performance, as its full of optimism and hope and great expectations that this will be the year.

I don't know, they seemed to take the preseason more seriously then they had in the past. Hopefully they stick with playing the right way, and not getting into bad habits.

As a diehard Leaf fan its hard to let go of the past and think the future will be any different. But with that said we only have to look at teams like Pittsburgh, Washington, and more recently TB as teams that went through growing pains with young star players before reaching the pinnacle which is the Stanley Cup.

All I want to see is growth this year and progressing past the 1st round of the playoffs. I dont expect a cup this year but would welcome it. Ultimately lets get this season started and see where things go. Anything is possible.

Mistake filled October games are made for the Leafs. Even if they’re 7-2 by Halloween the Toronto media will not be quick to talk about MVP, vezina, hart, and 65 goal candidates like they’ve done in the past.
On the other hand they better not start 4-5 because the media is chomping at the bit to talk about firing someone.

It's likely a protocol.

Step 1: No concussion symptoms after coming off the ice
Step 2: No concussion symptoms overnight.
Step 3: No concussion symptoms after morning skate.
Step 4: No concussion symptoms in pre-game skate.
Step 5: cleared.

CJ said yesterday that he talked to a couple different people, and they said Marner is fine so IDK
We'll fine out soon. If they don't make a call up, he's playing unless they plan on doing 11F 7D which Keefe isn't a fan of and I wouldn't either.
