Ah sorry, they booed him when they announced his name not when he was walking up to the stage*

I literally just posted the video, I'm assuming your going to spin the gasp when he was called with boos, despite the fact he was cheered loudly and even had the fans chant his name throughout the draft whenever he showed up.

Whatever man, your intention is clear.

Yet baseball players love playing in Boston and New York. High tax, high pressure and crazy segments of fans/press.

As for the OP, yeah there is a segment of the fans who are kooks. I’m looking at you Kovalev protesters
Some players really do hate playing for Boston or NY. Torii Hunter had Boston on his No Trade list throughout his career for the racism he experienced when he played away games there. And there have been others who wanted nothing to do with those big markets. You are a professional celebrity when you are a player for those kind of teams, in ways you don't experience in other venues, you have no private life, period. But at the same time, baseball also pays salaries a hell of a lot more than hockey, and their advertising deals are much more lucrative than in hockey, so its a lot easier to live with that playing for the Yankees or Sox than the Leafs or Habs.

There are definitely some weird habs fans.

I'll never be ashamed of the actions of others just because we cheer for the same team though.

It's the most ridiculous thing. When I watch Reinbacher I see a player that will become a top pair defenseman. He's got some really fun snarl and makes beautiful passes. Outstanding timing when he closes his gaps. He's right up there with Jiricek and Nemec. They ought to be thrilled to have him.

Yeah I know, it's more about Michkov. But I actually think Reinbacher probably is the more valuable NHLer. Michkov isn't going to be a fun highlight reel all the time vs NHL D. People have unreasonable expectations for the little guy.

If my org tanked and then passed up Cooley, Michkov, Leonard, Nemec, Tkachuk and Hughes for Reinbacher, Slaf and Kotkaniemi...I'd be pissed too!

They've been really smart in a lot of ways, but the top picks + the strange moves (Newhook?) set the rebuild back. Imagine if they had Cooley, Michkov and Tkachuk right now?

That's funny because the guy Habs fans wanted was Shane Wright. They threw a tantrum about it. They didn't want Cooley.

They also hated Brady Tkachuk and trashed him all year.

If there is one group of people that should have learned some humility about their preferences in prospects, it's Habs fans.

There wasn't much of a reaction when he was picked, if anything there was slight cheering. Carey Price forgetting his last name kind of ruined any organic reaction. When he said David we all knew who was going, but it wasn't for over 10 seconds that we heard his last name.

This is what an audible surprised reaction sounds like.

Even if you don't agree with a pick, leave the damn kid alone. All he's trying to do is live his dream and playing in the NHL, and generally what he wants for himself as a player aligns with what you want for you organization. Disagree with the pick and management, support the player.

He is trying to pretend we booed Slafkovsky, not Reinbacher.

I have a Habs fan friend that is constantly wishing death upon Kent Hughes for picking Reinbacher (among other things). Honestly Habs fans are a different breed...

Yeah I know a Leafs fan who's a raging racist and bigot (among other things).

Leafs fans are a different breed...

Edit: now doesn't that sound silly?

Not sure if this is true or not but pretty disgusting if it is. You have to wonder if the kid signs there. Management doesn’t even want him to report to NA allegedly because of this.

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen anything like this.

Montreal fans used to boo Doug Harvey early in his career, because his style of play was unorthodox. Nothing new here.
