Post-Game Talk: Habs defeat les Sénateurs d'Ottawa

I agree with you. and i was being uncharitable with that last statement. If we need that 2c, why not try others?
Why was it Dach glued to Laine for example? I see newhook as a better player and actual Center that could've been tried. He was great last year too. Why not try trading for guys to play center? Why did it have to be Dach?
My issue is , we didn't try anything other than Dach at 2C the entire year.
It falls on the Gm and pro scouting to recognize that his draft pedigree means nothing.
I feel like they dropped the ball on this, and may have hurt our chances at the playoffs because of an obsession with a guy that just isn't him. 2 games at the start of a season is not enough data to lead me to believe he is anything special. Chicago saw it and they dumped him too while he had value.
That's a terrible take.

You're completely discounting his play with us before his knee injury.

The Canadiens gave him the opportunity this season, because they saw what he was capable of... which was playing like a 2C.

Do you remember how he played a couple seasons ago?

He dropped his career average of 40point while having no shot and being a poor defensive player.
His stats are inflated from playing with Caufield and Suzuki.
He will never be a 2C

are we rebuilding or in the mix?
We are rebuilding while in the mix. ;)

Habs are at the point where they fight off for a WC, but they have a lots of players who will be phased off in the next few years that will needs to be replaced and while they are fighting for a WC, they are far off from being a true contender.

I didn't notice but was last nights game good enough for Dvorak to crack a smile? I still haven't seen an in-game smile from this guy lol.

Yeah I was being a jerk with that comment. I see the vision

I have no idea what he'll become, but there's a good hockey there if he can align his mind/body.

Dach has never cracked 50 points.
Drouin was forced to play center on a team that had no offensive system, still scored 50 (same age too)

Which guy get ripped by the fanbase, and which guy is injured so he can avoid being mid?
Drouin had nothing but mediocre production to offer while Dach is worth more than his points total.

Heineman has looked below average lately. The last thing he's earned is to be put into more offensive roles.
You saw on that PP with Suzuki was he's still able to do. And then you compare him to Roy or Beck on that 2nd line and as below average you think he looks, he's still FAR away ahead. Needless to say Jake and Joel have cooled down too. You give Heineman to Newhook and you give him that forecheck role. I swear he'll do much better.

All used from liquidated or converted assets . + the failing season from Berg.

Marc was a lot of things, but he never tanked this franchise
Please take your negativity somewhere else, it's pathetic now. Impossible you're a Hab fan. Not even engaging with the stupidities you just posted.

Geez, and I'm seen as the negative one...lol. What's wrong with you...lol. Leave Dach out there. We will see how he comes back but in the meantime, that team just works out and NOTHING suggest that once Dach comes back, he couldn't get with the program either...

I think trying to make Savard a top 4 at his age was WAY more negatively impactful than Dach. When we acquired Carrier and downgraded Savard into the 3rd pairing it made the team much better.
More than that, removing Barron from this team was the most important thing

Order of importance IMO

1. Bye bye Barron (Hello Carrier)
2. Bye bye Primeau
3. Bye Bye Dach
4. Less ice time for Savard
