A trade for Suzuki / Phillips or Durzi or a trade for Frost or Hayton / Sambrook

are two of the only trades I'd be willing to give Chayka up in.

Add in someone like a Gordeev, Garreffa, Eliot in there too and this team will be a force.

Possibly Brazeau or another impactful OA would be dreaming.

I'm not sold on Frost or Phillips. I think the targets should be less flashy...get a couple of kids who are good leaders and who can do the little things right.

During the Hamilton after Hanley went down

Chayka, Lalonde and Wolley played about 99% of the rest of the game.

So you are right, you will not win with this defence.

And to the guy who keeps talking about this little win streak, both sarnia and owen sound are with in striking distance. One hot weekend from them and one poor weekend from guelph and 5th place or even 6th for the storm is not out of the question.

You don't have the roster to compete yet, just because you won a few games against a very bad Hamilton team, a Mississauga team that is pretty bad, a Oshawa team that was missing its number one goalie, 2 of its best forwards and defencemen does not change the fact that you still need to add.

I agree, although I don't think it would be worth it to spend as much as it would take to add what's necessary to make a 'real' run. I'd stick to some under the radar moves for value...keep Chayka. Win a round or two, enjoy the summer.

But what about these indications that Guelph is a front-runner for Dellandrea? Chayka is the only player on Guelph's roster that fits the bill of what Flint is looking for in return. Does nobody have any interest in this deal?

Bunk. While there is a connection there to Burnett, I don't see how this deal would make ANY sense for Guelph. Why would they give up one of their only defensemen (and a great rookie at that), for a forward where the are already strong? I don't have a tonne of respect for GMGB so in that sense I guess I could see it happening, but I'd like to believe that even old Curious George can see that would be a horrific move.

OK OK OK;..so ...send Burnett ...Stormys' first born ana bucketa pucks ..done deal..

Why you gotta hate on Stormy? Guy is just a big ole cuddle monster.

Spyke is the problem.....let's deal his first born instead. Get that weirdo and his offspring out of the Royal City ;)

I'd rather see a sell than see that scenario, get younger prospects for Ratcliffe and Schnarr.

That would be my preferred option, too. But going by the rumours, plus what's already taken place, I don't think management/ownership agrees.

I'm saying if we are going to buy, let's keep it small. As we have discussed, I'd rather not go the 'scorched earth, back to the basement route'. Another reset is not what this organization needs - at least, not player-wise. Management/ownership on the other hand.....

Hope you had a Happy Holiday and a great New Year's, Watcher!

Any Storm fans planning on attending tonight's game between the Attack and Storm in Owen Sound?

Always enjoyed the highway 6 rivialry throughout the years

Since the storm have not made a trade yet does that mean there waiting for world juniors to be over to add high end F and D and or both? Just doesnt make sense we need D badly and still nothing!! My thinking were adding one or more high end player after the tourney!!

As each day passes Burnett continues to make a stronger and stronger case for his dismissal. This is getting beyond being a complete farce!!!! Keep hearing we are going for it this year but are so depleted in roster players. Other GM's in the league must be salivating with what they will be able to prior away from Guelph in a trade, given how poorly the assets have been managed.

Wouldn’t be panicking just yet. If nothing done by 10th then the fecal matter is in the GM

Great. Only would this happen to Guelph.

Hillis out for 8 weeks.
Hanley out at least 8 weeks
Gogolev stretchered off tonight and it doesn't look good.

Fractured ankle. Looking at surgery tomorrow

It's never nice to lose players to long term injury. But if there is a positive to come out of it, these players will be back in time to get back in game shape leading into the playoffs.

If I'm Guelph, I make the moves I planned on making before anyone got hurt because once everyone is back, you'll be all set.

I still see this team giving London a hard time if they meet in the playoffs.

Or the "hockey gods" are trying very hard to send a message to Guelph Storm ownership and management?????

We are down to 10 healthy forwards and 4 defensemen (not including Samorukov). It also does not include the 16 yr old call ups that we have been using - Profaca, Grant, Papais etc.

The 4 defensemen are two 16 yr olds a 17 yr old and an 18 yr old.

Any news on gogo?

Saw the play no ones fault on the injury on the play, just hard-nosed work ethic by all involved.

Gogolev got tangled up in the play and landed awkwardly on his leg, harmlessly in intent by all accounts but yet still never nice to see. Hearing of observation tests for him but more then likely he'll be sidelined for the Storm and have season ending surgery to repair any major damage.

Never a good thing for any player in this league
