Reading that article made me wonder who goes up and down more in a game. Our starting goalie or EP40.

Whatever the answer it's obvious that falling onto a knee repeatedly is going to cause issues

Artūrs is a person who likes to work and feel healthy amount of fatigue and therefore sleep well because he has done a good job. In the previous weeks, the soreness began to appear. Like any hockey player, the tried to get through it. At first he tried to rest, then rest for a little longer, getting to a point where he could think about returning to regular practice again.

His butterfly style and his size means is forced to go down on his knees all the time. Such style of play and such micro-injury does not allow him to perform all the necessary movement comfortably. It can be endured for a while, but over time it becomes a chronic problem.

During the training process, we tried to sense how things are going. We realized that he will not be able to return fully until these games. The schedule is very condensed. We cannot ice him in one period and then another goalkeeper for the next two. That's not how it works! A goalie has to be 100 percent ready in every situation. Moreover, this tournament is not end-all for him. If it was the ending stage of the World Championship, maybe he could risk it. However, at the moment, he could risk a chronic injury for months...

We were not entitled to gamble in this situation. Maybe it works out, maybe not, maybe it does - no one would forgive us, neither media, nor our fans, neither the management nor we ourselves. We have to put the most capable roster on the ice.

The only way this kind of a deal ever happens is if both Columbus and Vancouver badly underachieve this season. It's still shaping up as a long year for the Jackets.....but the Canucks still have serious aspirations of another Pacific Division title and a long playoff run.

Trading two of your best forwards before the season even starts, is hardly the way you want to start a new season full of optimism.

The spread is $16 mill between ceiling and floor. So, CBJ has around $26 mill in space, so need to acquire $10 mill to get to the floor. Could be LTIR guys like Poolman or even Johansen if he wins his grievance and is ltir. Both would be done after the season unlike a Price or Weber.

Not sure what their chances are of guys like Saad, Palmeri, Pageau, etc that teams would like to move but are unlikely to see them waive a mntc to CBJ.

Silovs really needa to stop hitting and sulking and control play more and put up secondary assists

Last season the Canucks were surprised they did as well. They were Hopeful if everything went well.

This year they have less skill on defence and injured goalies before the start of the season.
They also have several new players to be integrated into the line up.
Edmonton will be improved, LA, Vegas and even Anaheim and San Jose will not be the push overs they were.
That and there has been no news on Boeser's blood clots yet except he probably hasn't been working out very long. AND BB is a FA in July so where will the team get the 8 mil for him? The closer to the end of the season the less likely he re-signs especially as he has requested a trade more than once.

For Columbus it would show they aren't just sitting back, it would be a good PR move at least and they do have lots of younger players of much higher quality than the Canucks do now.
Next 2 years will be even harder on the Canucks as OEL's buyout hit over 4.7 million which all but negates any 5 million dollar bump in the cap ceiling
