Finns on twitter are throwing Laine under the buss because we are bad..

Expectations are huge. Matthews gets a lot of praise from the Finns.

There was one bad giveaway that lead into a goal (much like the one against Belarus) and a bad penalty so... yeah. But Laine has also shown some offense, mainly the last shift...

This thread has gone exactly like I hoped :handclap:I didn't want a bunch of troll comments and was hoping for the Laine camp to appreciate Matthews game and the Matthews camp to appreciate Laines game and so far so good. Both amazing talents and both perfect fits for the teams that will draft them

Is Ferraro still commentating these games? Guy has no idea about what he's talking about.

Laine reminds me of Jagr when he has the puck down low.

He needs to get a LOT stronger for that imo.

I find he uses his skill more than his body down low. It works, and he will get stronger. But for him to be like Jagr down low he'd need to seriously dad-bod up.

I agree, good thread so far.

When you say perfect fits you are so right. As a Jets fan, Laine going to the team with the worst powerplay in the league is as good a fit as it gets.

Exactly right, so much better than insults thrown from either side. Both have their strengths and are incredible players, why fight?

He has the genes for it. We'll see how he does once he gets to train with an NHL team. :)

Matthews is truly good, has to be said. But im very sure that Laine after year would be an beast. But Matthews will deserve the #1 draft spot, dont question it.

I hope when that Matthews vs Laine thread opens up again we can all just get along and appreciate these two future stars. Both different players. Both on the same level. :)

Very true. He definitely has the frame for it.

I guess it's just, Jagr is like, you know....Jagr down there.

To me that's like saying Crosby could be a playmaker as good as Gretzky. Yes, Crosby is amazing. But Gretzky is Gretzky.

I can see the jets PP being deadly with Laine-Shelf-Ehlers. Use Ehlers skating to carry it in, Shelf's passing and Laine's shot.

I'm telling yall, this is Ovi+Malkin draft all over again (Although this time the center goes first and might have the slight advantage in the NHL.....But at that point does it really matter?

Laine looked alot like Jason Spezza on that last shift controlling the puck down low. The tight turns, the hands, the vision. Was nice to watch.
