Yes, he has always been a two-way defenseman. In the NHL he "became" a defensive defenseman. No Swedish top defenseman has a specific role, they want to play hockey.
I think he has some vision and the technical ability to execute those plays, he just needs a bit more time than he's given in the NHL. It forces him to play simpler.

Swiss need to work on that PP, scoring bearly one goal on six opportunities is just not enough. I am expecting Fisher to make changes now, as he should have already done it for today...

This is not so far from being the best team sweden can have, so consider that, i think overall it is a pretty ****ty preformance. The only one i think plays really good is Nylander. He has played like a true superstar in the tournament so far. Hard to belivie that he has had a really bad season in NHL.

More "ridiculously unlucky" then "bad"

There is still plenty of hockey left.

Pettersson will not magically become fresher by playing more games, when he is clearly really fatigued and worn out.

I'm glad he showed national pride and came, but for his own sake, he shouldn't be here. He should rest.

That’s ten players four of them centers you don’t think it is seriously crippling for the offense when you’re missing your three best centers?

isn't it always that way? you play bad just list a bunch of names even if they destroy team chemistry or doesn't even fit in the system just list them duh.

Pleasant game to watch, good hockey!!

Overall, very little *****ing about the reffing too, so refreshing. Of course I know when that will change.
There were always questionable calls, but there wasn't much to complain about. The refs allowed the teams to decide the game, overall.

Give it a break. Lindholm is in the same situation. Pettersson will get better when it matters.

Are you serious? I can make a better team than this with only non-participants:

Forsberg - Bäckström - Arvidsson
Rakell - Zibanejad - Nyquist
Johansson - W. Karlsson - Steen
Johnsson - Backlund - Burakovsky

E. Karlsson - H. Lindholm
Hedman - Edler
Dahlin - Brodin

Bad thing for Switzerland is, they gave it their all just not to have much left in tank against Russia tomorrow.

At least Czech vs. Swiss will probably be a good game.

The last PP goal was pretty meh, after Klingberg lost his stick.

Pretty much. Though even when they don't decide the games the moaning always gets silly sooner or later, wait for the knockout games, you will see........................no one will be able to resist. Especially when the opponent is a hated team.

Let the blame game begin.

It was a couple of years ago but I seem to recall that the Devils benched him when he made mistakes. That's no way to develop a young defender with offensive skills. Correct me if Im wrong.
Larsson had a couple shitty injuries with the Devils to start his career... I'm not going to argue with you that the Devils took it very slow with Larsson... because they did... but imo it paid of because he was easily our best defender his final year as a Devil... and in return... got us Hall...
He's still very young, give it time... if the Oilers turn it around... Larsson will stand out, he wears an "A" on his jersey already for a reason....

Thats part of the game... nothing special for hockey tbh... and nothing special for national hockey.

You act like it was some kind of comfortable win.

Sweden stopt playing when they were in leading then Swiss ties it Sweden step up the pace score another one...

I was pretty comfortable about Sweden would win this game there were no other option in my minde.

That wasn’t what I was saying what I was pointing out was that it really wasn’t as close to the best team Sweden could ice as he would like to believe.

Look at my initial posts in this thread and you’ll see that I am by no means underestimating Switzerland, I know they’re always damn good in this tournament. I do however think Sweden has moore room to improve than Switzerland does.

BENCH ERIKSSON FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.
