Looked like high stick but I bet they have better views and it actually wasn't. SOme times image angles trick us. They wouldn't call it wrong 2010's from video review?

You're betting wrong...this isn't the NHL with 100 cameras.
I guess they have about 5...and that includes the two in the nets.

Woo, Paddy...:yo:

Laine has 9 points which is fantastic for U18 player few games in tournament. again: Fantastic!

He is offensive winger so points are exactly what we expect from him. BUt still should be swapped to left side, again the goal was scored when JOkinen took the right side in French zone and served from there. Nice pass from him, once in a while.

Ok it is difficult to judge from the television even with slow motion.

And you have to keep in mind, that KJ isn' really coaching that good.
Just imagine, what could've been possible with a good coach.:amazed:

Canadians are mostly of Scottish and Irish descent in Western Canada.

St. Patrik will fit in just great in the Western Canadian Provinces.

Laine plays alot better 2way now. Great defensive efforts along game. KoJo has actually coached him, which is bit surprising.

I just gave props for KoJo in defensive but I agree, he has the wings wrong and in general ur right.

While Laine hasn't been exactly lighting the world on fire on the scoring department so far in the tournament, have to give props to him playing that well defensively on the right side, RW position being new to him. I think his defensive game is being heavily underrated in comparisons to Puljujarvi.

Love Laine's reaction's to scoring goals.

You'd think an 18-year old would go crazy and show a ton of emotion and excitement but Laine has that "veteran of 15 years, done this a hundred times before, no need to go crazy" demeanor. Very Jari Kurri like goal "celebrations".

Oh, he will when he's scoring at the last minute in elimination games. Just not in this kind of game.

I think Jokinen is on the left side in the defensive zone, after that Laine seems to shift to left. Anyways good game from Finland so far, as expected. Anything less and I'd be worried.

Oh Jokinen made a good pass, shocking.

if it makes it less shocking, the pass actually hit the French player's leg a changed direction a bit, otherwise it would probably have ended up in the feet of Laine :sarcasm:

I'm sorry....but I just dont believe they got that video review right...this is a 6' 4 guy as Ray says...Seems like ref went straight to review without making a ruling. Had he done so, video would have to be clear to over turn him.

Tough luck for France....

The red light's burning already, there's no need for further circus.

Just a question to the Finns: are there no good coaches in Finland? Because you Finns reproach the coach practically by every whc bad coaching of the team no matter who stands behind the boards for the finnish NT.

I like what I'm seeing out of Laine. His nose for the puck and ability to put the puck in the net are elite.

His acceleration and skating needs work, but this is an area that he can easily improve on. Compare Leon Draisatl's skating after his 1st year. In his 2nd year in the NHL his skating was vastly improved.

I have liked Erkka Westerlund overall. Our olympic team overperformed (did well despite injuries to key players).

It's just the effect of Barkov rubbing into him. It's infective, just like his habit of avoiding hatters.

Wrong conclusion. I think there is many top coaches and hardly ever there is consensus that coach is doing bad job. Only Helminen and now to some Extent KoJo has been consensus not-so-good coaches. And KoJo could prove us wrong, but he has definitely some wrong things going on in this team, the worst thing is that Jussi is LW and Laine is RW. That's big enough mistake to make coach rep bad in Finland.
