They had a ton of chances but the shots just weren't falling today. Add to that refs from Canada and Sweden, and it was a tight situation. A win is a win.

Yeah, the refs can also frustrate mentally. But whatever, you're right, we'll take the win, as unimpressive as it was.

I expect a close and nerve breaking game vs Denmark where it's going to be scoreless for a while or Denmark even taking the lead

Hopefully they don't have Niederreiter on their lineup

Game-wise they were ok, the game had the feel of a safe 4-1 score even if the result says otherwise.

Yeah, Polunin with 2 posts, plenty of great shooting chances, nothing was going in, shots were either blocked or were misfired. We have to work on chance conversion (which was ironically the strength of the team in the first 3 matches).

This was ugly, but we'll take it! The team did dominate the game, but still trying to find ways to get something up on the scoreboard. Svechnikov has a ton of talent, but he is so ineffective its unbelievable. He looks like he's just trying to make an individual play instead of moving the puck to an open teammate.

Still, happy to get the No. 1 seed. I'd much rather have them playing Denmark than Canada. I'm confident that Bragin will have them ready to go for the medal round.

Im worried that the refereeing is going to cause serious problems in games that matter. I can't believethe stuff they are not calling, bigget one is that blatant cross check against kraskovsky

I can not say any bad word towards our team. They played well in general. Tough, nervious game... happens, but such games are good before playoffs, won't let you relax much.

New Year is coming, see you in 2016, best wishes for everyone :handclap:

Thank you, all the best to you and to all board members! :D

I have seen Russian teams dominate lesser opponents in past years and then crap the bed in the medal round.

They don't need to empty the tank here. Save it for when it matters.

That's true. Let's hope our boys will come out fighting against Denmark, they cannot afford underestimating their opponent, we have already seen team Denmark give our team a very hard time (we had to come back from being down 2:0). And Eller's trying to soften up our team by saying he hopes they won't lose 8-0, so there's an obvious strategy going on here. They have to come out playing their 100% game.
