Or you know... it's better to win all the games and build upon that.

I want to see Hägg play a lot better.

Waking up at 1am to watch this. Really interested. Love watching these two nations play whenever they meet at any level.

Sweden recently at WJC level has a very good record against Russia. In fact Russia has been there ***** for a while  Stopping Russia from making the final in the last two and beating Russia in the Gold Medal game in 2012.

Most recent games (last 6) have been decided by 1 goal too.

Russia has one win in their last 10 matches against Sweden at WJC level :amazed:

WJC 2014 - Semi Final Sweden 2-1 Russia
WJC 2014 - Preliminary round Sweden 3-2 Russia
WJC 2013 - Semi Final Sweden 3-2 Russia SO
WJC 2012 - Final Sweden 1-0 Russia OT
WJC 2012 - Preliminary Round Sweden 4-3 OT (That 0-3 comeback :amazed:)
WJC 2011 - Semi Final Sweden 3-4 Russia SO
WJC 2011 - Preliminary Round Sweden 2-0 Russia
WJC 2010 - Preliminary Round Sweden 4-1 Russia
WJC 2009 - Preliminary Round Sweden 5-0 Russia
WJC 2008 - Semi Final Sweden 2-1 Russia OT

My Prediction Sweden 4 - 2 Russia.

Sweden's preliminary round win streak is on the line for this one. Anybody remember what it's currently at?

I would call that impressive for a nation of that size.

That is impressive no matter what size you are. With the number of players the Canadians and USA have, you would be more inclined to assume they have such a record. If they did I would still be amazed.

Just shows how great of a junior hockey program the Swedes have at the moment. Good stuff.

Don't worry about Finland, they lost to Slovakia

Yeah and that's why I have to worry about Finland. Finland may very well lay eggs here and there and still be a serious threat, it's typical them to disappoint in one game and then surprise in the next.

But f it, I want Sweden to beat Russia, we don't know how group A will end for sure either so.

Should've been the New Year's Eve game but oh well, it'll be interesting. It seems reasonable for this team to finally lose a group stage game but I have a pretty good feeling.

I expect a Russian victory today. Something like 4 or 5-2. They've got their confidence back and they played like a team yesterday. But it could also be very close - 3-3 or so, and then end up 4-3 to either team. We'll see :D.

I like our chances against the Russians these days. They have good goaltending and forwards capable of doing some damage but they never seem to play that well against us.

Sucks this will be on during the USA game so I won't be able to watch it. I'll try to catch the replay on NHL network though. Should be a good one. I think Russia gets the win.
